Charade (1984 Film)
''Charade'' is a 1984 Canadian animated film directed by John Minnis. The film won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film at the 57th Academy Awards. The film was animated by Minnis with Pantone markers on paper, during a single three-month summer term at Sheridan College. Plot In front of a witless audience, a talented but unlucky gentleman competes in a game of charades against a savant who puts no effort to it and yet the audience still gets his right. Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning (formerly Sheridan College of Applied Arts and Technology) is a public polytechnic institute of technology located in the west-Greater Toronto Area in Ontario, Canada. The Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film is an award given by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) as part of the annual Academy Awards, or Oscars, since the 5th Academy Awards (with different names), covering the year 1931–32, to the present. From 1932 until 1970, the category was known as Short Subjects, Cartoons; and from 1971 to 1973 as Short Subjects, Animated Films. The present title began with the 46th Awards in 1974.
