Chapel-en-le-Frith High School
Chapel-en-le-Frith High School is a mixed gender comprehensive school in Chapel-en-le-Frith in the county of Derbyshire, England. It serves pupils aged 11 to 16 from the town and surrounding areas. The building is maintained by Interserve. Eden Foodservice provide the catering. History The school was established in 1952 as Chapel-en-le-Frith Secondary Modern. It has since been renamed 3 times; Long Lane Comprehensive School, Chapel-en-le-Frith County Secondary School and finally Chapel-en-le-Frith High School. In 2005 was rebuilt on the original playing fields of the school and the former site was then redeveloped as the school's new sports fields. The school is housed in a specially built one-piece building. There have only been four headteachers to date, Stuart Ash retiring in the 2010/11 academic year and replaced by current headteacher, Simon Grieves. Kinder Scout is a moorland plateau and national nature reserve in the Dark Peak of the Derbyshire Peak District in England. Part of the moor, at above sea level, is the highest point in the Peak District, in Derbyshire and the East Midlands; this summit is sometimes simply called the Peak. In excellent weather conditions, the city of Manchester and the Greater Manchester conurbation can be seen from the western edges, as well as Winter Hill near Bolton and the mountains of Snowdonia in North Wales. Anthony Kappes
Anthony Edward Kappes MBE (born 1 March 1973) is an English road and track racing cyclist and Paralympian. Biography Born in Stockport, Cheshire, Kappes is partially sighted and competes in the B&VI 1–3 class. He is the current World record holder for 200 metres, along with his pilot Barney Storey. Storey and Kappes became the first Paralympic team to hold the able-bodied British National Tandem Sprint Championships title in 2006. Kappes, began working with a new tandem pilot internationally in 2008, Jon Norfolk sacrificed his career as a member of Great Britain's able-bodied squad in order to work with Paralympians, and had to take a three-year break from competition in order to qualify. Kappes and Norfolk beat Simon Jackson and Storey to win the sprint and kilo (Achieving Worlds Best - 1.02.06) events at the 2008 VISA Paralympic World Cup. Andrew Russell Bingham (born 23 June 1962) is a British Conservative Party politician and former Member of Parliament (MP). He was first elected as the MP for High Peak in Derbyshire at the 2010 general election, gaining the seat from Labour. Chapel-en-le-Frith
Chapel-en-le-Frith () is a town and civil parish in the Borough of High Peak in Derbyshire, England. It has been dubbed the "Capital of the Peak", in reference to the Peak District, historically the upperland areas between the Saxon lands (below the River Trent) and the Vikings lands (which came as far south as Dore, Sheffield). The town was established by the Normans in the 12th century, originally as a hunting lodge within the Forest of High Peak. This led to the French-derived name Chapel-en-le-Frith ("chapel in the forest"). (It appears in an English form in a Latin record as 'Chapell in the ffryth', in 1401.) Combs is a small village in Derbyshire, England, in the civil parish of Chapel-en-le-Frith and the Peak District National Park. The village is bounded to the east, west and south by gritstone edges and moorland, the highest of which is Black Edge ().
