Chao Wu (politician)
Chao Wu (born 1976/1977) is an American politician. He is a member of the Maryland House of Delegates for District 9A in Howard and Montgomery counties. He was previously a member of the Howard County Board of Education from 2018 to 2022. Background Wu attended the University of Science and Technology of China, where he earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in 2001; the National University of Singapore, where he earned a master degree in electrical and computer engineering in 2003; and the University of Maryland, College Park, receiving a Doctor of Philosophy degree in electrical and computer engineering in 2009. While at the University of Maryland, Wu served as president of the local Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) chapter. Maryland House of Delegates District 9A is one of the 67 districts that compose the Maryland House of Delegates. Along with subdistrict 9B, it makes up the 9th district of the Maryland Senate. District 9A includes parts of Carroll County and Howard County, and is represented by two delegates. A sister city or a twin town relationship is a form of legal or social agreement between two geographically and politically distinct localities for the purpose of promoting cultural and commercial ties.
