Chanting Monks Press
Joseph M. Monks (born February 21, 1968, Queens, New York, U.S.) is an American writer and the world's first visually impaired feature film director, best known for co-creating the cult phenomena horror comic book, ''Cry For Dawn''. Biography Monks, with fellow Queens-native Joseph Michael Linsner, co-created ''Cry For Dawn'' (1989–1992), an American horror comic book anthology. Linsner and Monks created Cry For Dawn Productions to publish the book; the publisher, based in Valley Stream, New York, also released other comics in the period 1989 to 1993. Cry For Dawn Productions dissolved in late 1993, and shortly thereafter Monks founded his own publishing company, known variously as CFD Productions, C.F.D. Productions, or CreativeForce Designs & Productions. With his new publisher, Monks became a driving force in independent horror comics, launching ''NightCry'', ''Tales of the Dead'', and several one-shots. Diabetic retinopathy (also known as diabetic eye disease), is a medical condition in which damage occurs to the retina due to diabetes mellitus. It is a leading cause of blindness in developed countries. Diabetic retinopathy affects up to 80 percent of those who have had both type 1 and type 2 diabetes for 20 years or more. In at least 90% of new cases, progression to more aggressive forms of sight threatening retinopathy and maculopathy could be reduced with proper treatment and monitoring of the eyes The longer a person has diabetes, the higher his or her chances of developing diabetic retinopathy. Zacherley
John Zacherle ( ; sometimes credited as John Zacherley; September 26, 1918 – October 27, 2016) was an American television host, radio personality, singer, and voice actor. He was best known for his long career as a television horror host, often broadcasting horror films in Philadelphia and New York City in the 1950s and 1960s. Best known for his character of "Roland/Zacherley", he also did voice work for films, and recorded the top ten novelty rock and roll song "Dinner With Drac" in 1958. He also edited two collections of horror stories, ''Zacherley's Vulture Stew'' and ''Zacherley's Midnight Snacks''. ''Cry for Dawn'' was an American horror- anthology comic book that ran nine issues from 1989 to 1992. The book was primarily written by Joseph Michael Linsner and Joseph M. Monks with artwork by Linsner. The series featured guest artist and writers in some issues, but the work was largely performed by Linsner and Monks. It was published by Cry for Dawn Productions from 1989 to 1992 and introduced the character of ''Dawn'', the goddess of birth and rebirth. Hart D. Fisher (b. May 27, 1969) is an American horror crime author, comic book writer and publisher best known for creating a comic book about Jeffrey Dahmer and for founding Boneyard Press. Early life and education Fisher graduated in 1992 with a fine and applied arts bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. Career Jeffrey Dahmer comics and Boneyard Press In 1992, while still in college, Fisher founded the publisher, Boneyard Press, in Champaign, Illinois. Fisher credits another artist, Mark Beachum, as his inspiration to create his own company. Boneyard's first release was Hart's comic book, ''Jeffrey Dahmer: An Unauthorized Biography of a Serial Killer''. ''Hollywood Babble-On'' is a weekly podcast featuring filmmaker Kevin Smith and radio personality Ralph Garman. The show features Smith and Garman discussing the week's celebrity, movie, and other pop culture news.
