Chantilly Jumping
Chantilly Jumping is an international show jumping event and one of the legs of the Global Champions Tour since 2010. It takes place in Chantilly, France and is one of the 3 French legs of the tour. The Event The event was created in 2001 and has been held every year since, in 2010 it was chosen as one of the legs of the Global Champions Tour. It is held over 3 or 4 days and includes more than 20 different competitions ranging from CSI 1* amateur competitions with obstacle heights of 115 cm through to CSI 5* competitions with an average obstacle height of 160 cm and up to €300,000 prize money. As part of the Global Champions Tour riders including Kent Farrington, Simon Delestre, Scott Brash, Kevin Staut, Roger-Yves Bost and John Whitaker, compete. Hybrid Grass
Hybrid grass or reinforced natural grass is a product created by combining natural lawn grass with reinforcing synthetic fibres. It is used for stadiums and training pitches used for association football, rugby, gridiron football and cricket. Reinforced natural grass can also be used for events and concerts. The synthetic fibres incorporated into the rootzone make the grass stronger and more resistant to damage. A first generation of hybrid grass appeared in the 1990s. Grass roots were allowed to intertwine with a mix of soil and synthetic fibres as they grew. Three main methods exist to insert synthetic fibres in the root zone. The Château de Chantilly () is a historic French château located in the town of Chantilly, Oise, about 50 kilometres (30 miles) north of Paris. The site comprises two attached buildings: the Petit Château built around 1560 for Anne de Montmorency and the Grand Château, which was destroyed during the French Revolution and rebuilt in the 1870s. The Living Museum of the Horse (french: Musée Vivant du Cheval) is a museum in Chantilly, France dedicated to equine art and culture. It is housed in the Great Stables (''Grandes Écuries'') of the Château de Chantilly, about 40 km (25 mi) north of Paris. History The Great Stables were built in 1719, on the orders of Louis Henri, duke of Bourbon, Prince of Condé, who believed that he would be reincarnated as a horse. He asked the architect, Jean Aubert, to build stables that would be suitable to house a horse of his rank. The resulting 186 m long stables are considered a masterpiece of 18th century architecture. The stables could house 240 horses and up to five hundred hounds. Chantilly Racecourse
Chantilly Racecourse (In French: "Hippodrome de Chantilly") is a Thoroughbred turf racecourse for flat racing in Chantilly, Oise, France, about north of the centre of the city of Paris. Chantilly Racecourse is located in the country's main horse training area on 65 hectares next to the Chantilly Forest. A right-handed course, it was built with interlocking tracks. The main course is 2,400 metres long, with another at 2,150 metres, plus a round course adaptable from 1,400 to 2,400 metres. The first race card at Chantilly was held on 15 May 1834 and its existing grandstand was built in 1879 by the famed architect Honoré Daumet, who also did the renovations to the nearby Château de Chantilly.
