Pettson and Findus ( sv, Pettson och Findus) is a series of children's books written and illustrated by Swedish author Sven Nordqvist. The books feature an old farmer (Pettson) and his cat (Findus) who live in a small ramshackle farmhouse in the countryside in around the 1950's. The first of the Pettson och Findus books to be published was ''Pannkakstårtan'' in 1984 (first published in English in 1985 as ''Pancake Pie''). To date, nine story books have been published in Swedish, plus a puzzle book, song book and cook book. ''Fat Dog Mendoza'' is a children's animated series produced by Sunbow Entertainment, Sony Wonder Television and TMO-Loonland loosely based on a Dark Horse one-off comic book of the same name. ''SuperStar KZ'' was a reality television show based on the popular British show Pop Idol, which aired from 2003 to 2007 on the Kazakh television station Perviy Kanal Evrasia. The talent contest determined the best young singers in Kazakhstan by allowing viewers to vote by phone or SMS. A supplementary show ''SuperStar KZ Dnevnik'' (SuperStar KZ Diary), shown twice weekly, provided a recap of the previous show and week's events for the contestants.
