Channel Live
Channel Live is an American hip hop duo composed of Vincent "Tuffy" Morgan and Hakim Green, which recorded for Capitol Records and Flavor Unit Records. Discovered by KRS-One, the duo released its debut album, ''Station Identification'', in 1995. It spawned the group's biggest hit, "Mad Izm", which peaked at 54 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. After the album ran its course, the group continued to make appearances throughout the 1990s, including on KRS-One's self-titled album and on the soundtrack of the first Wesley Snipes ''Blade'' film. In 2000, the group released a second album titled '' Armaghetto'' on Flavor Unit – it featured Method Man, the now-late Black Rob, Ms. Toi, Malik Yusef, and the singer Carl Thomas. A third album, ''Secret Science Rap'', followed in 2006. Andres "Dres" Vargas-Titus (born March 18, 1967) is an American hip hop artist. He is known for being the lead rapper of the alternative hip hop duo Black Sheep (hip hop group), Black Sheep, before recording as a solo artist. Career Dres formed Black Sheep in 1989 with Mista Lawnge. Their first appearance together was on De La Soul's 1991 album ''De La Soul Is Dead''. Dres was featured on the track "Fanatic of the B Word". Flavor Unit
The Flavor Unit is a crew of emcees and DJs from New York City and Northern New Jersey. It is now known as the Unit. The original version of the crew centered on producer the 45 King. It was Mark's connections to radio personalities DJ Red Alert and DJ Chuck Chillout that initially got the crew noticed, but the original members also all had formidable rhyme skills and wrote streetwise lyrics. The 45 King eventually fell into serious drug abuse and Queen Latifah took over the name; it became her umbrella organization. Flavor Unit Management is run by Latifah, one of the original members of the Flavor Unit, and Shakim Compere. Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums is a music chart published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine that ranks R&B and hip hop albums based on sales in the United States and is compiled by Nielsen SoundScan. The chart debuted as Hot R&B LPs in the issue dated January 30, 1965 in an effort by the magazine to further expand into the field of rhythm and blues music. It then went through several name changes, being known as Soul LPs in the 1970s and Top Black Albums in the 1980s, before returning to the R&B identification in 1990 and affixing a hip hop designation in 1999 to reflect the latter's growing sales and relationship to R&B during the decade. The Lords of the Underground (L.O.T.U.G.) is an American Hip hop music, hip-hop trio based in Newark, New Jersey. The group is composed of Dupré Kelly (professionally known as DoItAll) (born January 14, 1971), Al'Terik Wardrick (professionally known as Mr. Funke) (born November 15, 1972) and Bruce A. Derek Murphy (born December 29, 1968), better known as Sadat X, is an American rapping, rapper, best known as a member of alternative hip hop group Brand Nubian. Originally known as Derek X, Sadat takes his name from former Egyptian president Anwar Sadat. In 1996, Sadat recorded on the Red Hot Organization's compilation CD ''America Is Dying Slowly'', alongside Biz Markie, Wu-Tang Clan, Fat Joe and others. The CD, meant to raise awareness of the AIDS epidemic among African American men, was called "a masterpiece" by ''The Source''. Biography Sadat X is involved in teaching children.
