Beijing–Zhangjiakou Intercity Railway
The Beijing–Zhangjiakou intercity railway, also known as the Jingzhang intercity railway, Jingzhang high speed railway, Jingzhang section of Beijing-Baotou PDL, is a high-speed railway between Beijing and Zhangjiakou in Hebei province, China. The line was opened on 30 December 2019, and is the world's first driverless high speed railway, shortening the traveling time from Beijing to Zhangjiakou from 3 hours 7 minutes to 47 minutes. It forms part of both the Beijing–Lanzhou corridor and the Beijing–Zhangjiakou–Datong–Taiyuan branch of the Beijing–Kunming corridor. The main line has 10 stations. Chengbei Subdistrict, Beijing
Chengbei Subdistrict () is a subdistrict in the center of Changping District, Beijing, China. It shares border with Shisanling Town in its north, Nanshao Town in its east, Chengnan Subdistrict and Machikou Town in its south, and Chengnan Subdistrict in its west. It was home to 228,561 residents as of 2020. The subdistrict's name literally translates to "City North", which is referring to its location north of the old city gate. Changping District
Changping District (), formerly Changping County (), is a district situated in the suburbs of north and northwest Beijing. History Changping County and Jundu County which administered the area were established in the Han Dynasty. Changping was incorporated into Jundu when the Northern Wei dominated; however, the condition was reversed since the Eastern Wei. The county was promoted as Changping subprefecture had jurisdiction over Miyun, Shunyi and Huairou, in the era of Zhengde during the Ming Dynasty. These three counties were transferred to Shuntian Prefecture in the era of Yongzheng during the Qing Dynasty. Changping became a county again after the Xinhai Revolution, and it was transferred to Beijing from Hebei in 1956. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. An alternative arrangement is to position side platforms on either side of the tracks. The historical use of island platforms depends greatly upon the location. Changping Line, Beijing Subway
The Changping Line of the Beijing Subway () is a half elevated, half underground rapid transit line in northern Beijing. The line started construction in 2009. In September 2010, Construction of Phase I was completed, and was followed by three-month test run. Phase I of the line opened on December 30, 2010 and ran north from the Xi'erqi station on Line 13, Beijing Subway, Line 13 to Nanshao. On December 26, 2015, Phase II of the line opened, extending the line northwards to the Ming Tombs, Ming Tombs Scenic Area and terminating at Changping Xishankou station.
