Changa (album)
''Changa'' is the fifth studio album by Australian electronic trio Pnau. It was released on 10 November 2017 by the independent label etcetc. It follows their 2012 remix album in collaboration with Elton John, '' Good Morning to the Night'', and is their first studio album since ''Soft Universe'' (2011). It is also their first album as a trio, with vocalist and co-founder Nick Littlemore's brother Sam Littlemore joining in 2016. The album was preceded by the lead single "Chameleon" in November 2016, which reached number four on the ARIA Singles Chart, and number 11 on the Triple J Hottest 100, 2016. It features vocals by Kira Divine. It has received over 25 million streams on Spotify and been certified double platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association. Changa (drug)
Changa () is a blend of ''N'',''N''-Dimethyltryptamine (N,N-Dimethyltryptamine, DMT) mixed with a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (Monoamine oxidase inhibitor, MAOI). The addition of MAOIs extend the DMT experience in duration and intensity when compared with smoking DMT freebase alone. Typically, extracts from DMT-containing plants are combined with a blend of different MAOI-containing herbs, such as the ayahuasca vine, and/or leaf or Harmala alkaloid, harmala alkaloids from ''Peganum harmala'' to create a mix that is 25 to 50% DMT. History Changa was created by an Australian in 2003-2004 and named when 'asked' for a moniker for the drug during an ayahuasca session. Pnau
Pnau ( ) is an Australian dance music trio originating from Sydney. The trio, a duo before 2016, consists of the musicians Nick Littlemore (vocals, production), Peter Mayes (guitar, production) and Sam Littlemore (production), with the latter joining in 2016. Pnau has achieved multiple successes with their award-winning 1999 first album ''Sambanova'' and the widely acclaimed 2007 release '' Pnau''. Pnau is also recognised for a heavily publicised apprenticeship under the musician Elton John, who signed the duo after listening to the ''Pnau'' album. Several of Pnau's later projects have had John's involvement, such as the album ''Soft Universe'' and an album of Pnau recreations of Elton John's hits called '' Good Morning to the Night''. Celia Pavey, known professionally as Vera Blue, is an Australian singer-songwriter signed with Island Records Australia, which is part of Universal Music Australia. Both as a session musician and band member, he has worked with a wide range of musicians, including David Bowie, The Black Crowes, Elvis Costello, Sting, Empire of the Sun, The Sleepy Jackson, Wayne Krantz, Patti Austin, John Mayer, Jovanotti, Chuck Loeb, Mark Guiliana, Jamie Cullum, Chris Botti, and Knower. Empire of the Sun are an Australian electronic music duo formed in 2007. Madchester
Madchester was a musical and cultural scene that developed in the English city of Manchester in the late 1980s, closely associated with the indie dance scene. Happy Mondays are an English rock band formed in Salford in 1980. The original line-up was Shaun Ryder (vocals), his brother Paul Ryder (bass), Gary Whelan (drums), Paul Davis (keyboard), and Mark Day (guitar). ''Sambanova'' is the debut album by Australian dance music duo, Pnau, it was released in July 1999 on the independent Peking Duck label. However, the album was pulled from record stores due to uncleared samples, Warner Music Australasia re-released it in August 2001 with a different track listing, and it peaked in the Top 40 on the ARIA Albums Chart. The album won an ARIA Music Awards for Best Dance Release at the ARIA Music Awards of 2000. Background Pnau released their debut album ''Sambanova'' in July 1999 under the small independent Peking Duck label. It was recorded in a bedroom studio and Pnau declared they only expected to sell "a few thousand copies". Lounge Music
Lounge music is a type of easy listening music popular in the 1950s and 1960s.
