''Chandranath'' ( bn, চন্দ্রনাথ) is a 1984 Bangladeshi film directed by Chashi Nazrul Islam. This is the adaptation of the novel of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's same title. Chashi Nazrul Islam
Chashi Nazrul Islam (11 October 1941 – 11 January 2015) was a Bangladeshi film director and producer. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director twice for the films Shuvoda (1986) and Hangor Nodi Grenade (1997). He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2004 by the Government of Bangladesh. Early life and career Islam was born on 23 October 1941 at Shomoshpur village in Sreenagar Upazila of Munshiganj to Mosleh Uddin Khan and Shayesta Khanom. He was the eldest among four brothers and three sisters. His father was a service holder at Jamshedpur, India. At the age of 16, his father died. He got a job at the office of his uncle, the then auditor general of Pakistan. He was a member of the theatre organisation ''Krishti Sangha''. After Islam got laid off from that job, he started to perform on radio programs in 1965. Sabina Yasmin
Sabina Yasmin (born 4 September 1953) is a Bangladeshi singer. She is best known as a playback singer in Bengali cinema. She has won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer a record 14 times. She has recorded more than 1,500 songs for films and over 10,000 songs in total. Yasmin was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1984 and Independence Day Award in 1996 by the Government of Bangladesh. Early life Yasmin was born on 4 September 1953. Her father, Lutfar Rahman, worked in Provincial Civil Service of British Raj and her mother, Begum Mouluda Khatun, was a vocal artist who took lessons from the musician Ustaad Kader Baksh. Probal Chowdhury ( bn, প্রবাল চৌধুরী; 1947–2009) was a Bangladeshi freedom fighter, playback singer and composer. He rendered several songs from Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra during the Bangladesh Liberation War. After the war, he pursued his solo career in playback. Early life Probal Chowdhury was born in 1947 in Chittagong district, Bengal Presidency, British India (now Bangladesh). He was the sixth of Manmohan and Lilabati Chowdhury's ten children. Career He made his radio debut in 1966. In 1971, during the Bangladesh Liberation War, the family evacuated to Calcutta, India. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer five times for his performance in the films '' Mahanayak'' (1984), ''Shuvoda'' (1986), '' Srabon Megher Din'' (1999), ''Megher Pore Megh'' (2004) and ''Mohua Sundori'' (2015). Mohammad Moniruzzaman (15 August 1936 – 3 September 2008) was a Bangladeshi writer, poet, professor, freedom fighter and lyricist. Career Moniruzzaman received his BA in 1958 and his MA in 1959 from University of Dhaka. In 1969, he got his PhD from on ''Hindu-Muslim relationship in modern Bengali poetry''. He joined the University's Department of Bengali as a teaching advisor in 1959 and became a lecturer in 1962. He became a professor in 1975 and chair of the department in 1978. A. K. M. Jahangir Khan (21 April 1939 – 15 February 2020) was a Bangladeshi film producer who produced 43 films. He was known by the name of "Movie Mughal". Biography Khan was born on 21 April 1939 in Chouddagram of Comilla. He completed matriculation from Dhaka Collegiate School. Later, he completed higher secondary and post graduate studies from Jagannath College in 1960 and 1962 respectively.
