Aldo Grimaldi
Aldo Grimaldi (1942 – 5 August 1990) was an Italian director and screenwriter. Born in Catania, the son of the director and screenwriter Giovanni Grimaldi, he started his career as an assistant director in the films of his father. He made his directorial debut in 1967 with the "musicarello" ''Nel sole (film), Nel sole'', and then he became a specialist of the genre, often working with the couple formed by Al Bano and Romina Power. He also directed a number of commedie sexy all'italiana. He died of an incurable disease at 48. Gigi Reder (born Luigi Schroeder; 25 March 1928 – 8 October 1998) was an Italian actor and voice actor. He was best known for the role of Filini in the ''Fantozzi'' film series. Biography Born in Naples in to a German father and a Neapolitan mother, Reder moved to Rome where started his career in radio as host and actor of radio-dramas. He also debuted on stage in " teatro dialettale" and vaudeville, then performed in the stage companies of Peppino De Filippo, Turi Ferro, Giorgio Albertazzi and Mario Scaccia. Reder made his film debut in the early 1950s, but became popular in the 1970s as the sidekick of Paolo Villaggio in some successful comedies, such as the ''Fantozzi'' and ''Fracchia'' series. The musicarello (; plural: musicarelli) is a film subgenre which emerged in Italy and which is characterised by the presence in main roles of young singers, already famous among their peers, and their new record album. In the films there are almost always tender and chaste love stories accompanied by the desire to have fun and dance without thoughts. Edmund Anthony Cutlar Purdom (19 December 19241 January 2009) was an English actor, voice artist, and director. He worked first on stage in Britain, performing various works by Shakespeare, then in America on Broadway and in Hollywood, and eventually in Italy. He is perhaps best known for his starring role in 1954's historical epic ''The Egyptian''. By taking over important roles exited by Mario Lanza and Marlon Brando, Purdom was known by the mid-1950s as "The Replacement Star". After the failure of his Hollywood career, Purdom returned briefly to the United Kingdom and then settled in Italy, where he spent the remainder of his life appearing in local films.
