Richard Champion "Champ" Edmunds, Jr. is an American politician and a former Republican member of the Montana House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015. Personal and professional life Richard Champion "Champ" Edmunds Jr. was born September 9, 1963, in Sumter, South Carolina. An injury during birth resulted in the severing of nerves on the right side of his face, causing facial paralysis. Champ grew up working on his family's dairy farm. After high school he joined the United States Navy, navigating submarines for more than ten years. After leaving the Navy, he moved to Missoula, Montana. He attended the University of Montana and earned a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Finance. The Montana State Legislature is the state legislature of the U.S. state of Montana. It is composed of the 100-member Montana House of Representatives and the 50-member Montana Senate. John Edward Walsh (born November 3, 1960) is an American politician and former military officer who served as a United States Senator from Montana from 2014 to 2015. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as a colonel in the Army National Guard, the adjutant general of the Montana National Guard with a state commission as a brigadier general from 2008 to 2012 and the 34th Lieutenant Governor of Montana from 2013 to 2014 under Governor Steve Bullock.
