Chamber (Jonothon Evan Starsmore) is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character is usually associated with the X-Men and the New Warriors. A British mutant, Jono possessed the ability to cast energy blasts from his chest. He had limited control of his power and destroyed much of his chest and lower face when his powers emerged. He lost his powers on M-Day. For a time he used technology to give himself sonic based abilities. He regained his powers after the events of Age of X. Jonothon was a member of the X-Men junior team Generation X. He was sullen and moody and had difficulty bonding with teammates. He has since been offered a permanent position in the X-Men's teaching staff. In American comic books published by Marvel Comics, a mutant is a human being that possesses a genetic trait called the X-gene. It causes the mutant to develop superhuman powers that manifest at puberty. Human mutants are sometimes referred to as a human subspecies ''Homo sapiens superior,'' or simply ''Homo superior.'' Mutants are the evolutionary progeny of ''Homo sapiens'', and are generally assumed to be the next stage in human evolution. The accuracy of this is the subject of much debate in the Marvel Universe. Unlike Marvel's mutates, which are characters who develop their powers only after exposure to outside stimuli or energies (such as the Hulk, Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, Absorbing Man and Captain Marvel), mutants have actual genetic mutations. Skin (Angelo Espinosa) is a fictional character (a human mutant) appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appeared in ''The Uncanny X-Men'' #317 (October 1994). Fictional character biography Angelo Espinosa was a former gang member from the east Los Angeles area who faked his own death to leave that part of his life behind. Skin was one of four young mutants (including M, Husk, and Blink) abducted by the Phalanx, a techno-organic alien race. The reason behind the abductions was so that the Phalanx could uncover the secret behind their inability to assimilate mutants into their collective. Synch (Everett Thomas) is a fictional character and mutant superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Scott Lobdell, he first appeared in ''X-Men'' #36 (September 1994). Publication history Synch debuted in the midst of the "Phalanx Covenant" crossover (1994), in X-Men (vol. 2) #36 (September 1994), written by Fabian Nicieza and pencils by Andy Kubert. Husk (Paige Guthrie) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Guthrie is a superhero associated with the X-Men. A mutant, Husk has the ability to remove one layer of skin—or "husk"—revealing an epidermis of a different composition beneath. She often changes into metal or stone form, but can shift into a variety of substances. Husk is from a Kentucky coal mining family and is the younger sister of the X-Men's Cannonball. Unlike her brother, Husk is self-conscious of being seen as a "hick" ( Jubilee often called her "hayseed").
