Chalkida Indoor Hall
Tasos Kampouris Kanithou Indoor Hall, or Chalkida Indoor Hall (alternate spellings: Kabouris, Halkida; Greek: Κλειστό Γυμναστήριο Κανήθου «Τάσος Καμπούρης»), is a multi-purpose indoor arena that is located in Kanithou, Chalcis, Greece. It is named after Tasos Kampouris, a politician from the island of Euboea. The arena is mainly used to host concerts and basketball, handball and volleyball games. The arena has 1,120 regular seats available, plus another 500 seats, which are located in the arena's amphitheater. The total regular seating capacity of the arena for sporting events is 1,620 people. Chalcis
Chalcis ( ; Ancient Greek & Katharevousa: , ) or Chalkida, also spelled Halkida (Modern Greek: , ), is the chief town of the island of Euboea or Evia in Greece, situated on the Euripus Strait at its narrowest point. The name is preserved from antiquity and is derived from the Greek χαλκός (copper, bronze), though there is no trace of any mines in the area. In the Late Middle Ages, it was known as Negropont(e), an Italian name that has also been applied to the entire island of Euboea. Kymis BC
Kymi B.C. or Kymis B.C. is a Greek professional basketball club that is located in Kymi, on the island of Euboea, Greece. The club is also known as G.S. Kymis, with the club's full name being Gymnastikos Syllogos Kymis ( el, Γυμναστικός Σύλλογος Κύμης). The club has competed in the Greek Basket League. The team's emblem is the Greek Goddess Athena. Kymi was founded in 2010, with the creation of the men's basketball section. The club began its course very strongly, and managed to achieve several league promotions, from their local regional championships, all the way up to the top-tier level Greek national league. In 2019, the club merged with Lavrio, and granted its licence for the Greek Basket League to them. Kymis then temporarily suspended its basketball operations, and dropped out of all competitions for the time being. The HEBA Greek All-Star Game, also known as the EKO Greek All-Star Game for sponsorship reasons, is the All-Star Game of the HEBA (Greek: ΕΣΑΚΕ) Greek professional basketball association for men. It was founded and organized by Gus Sarianides. The men's all-star game has most often been played in a format featuring the Greek All-Stars, versus the Rest of the World All-Stars. There is also a men's slam dunk competition, and a men's 3-point shootout competition. The all-star weekend also features a game between under age 22 players and senior age players (players that are retired professionals), called the Rising Stars versus the All-Time Stars. Olympiacos Women's Basketball is the women's basketball department of the major Greek multi-sport club Olympiacos CFP, based in Piraeus. The department was initially founded in 1947, being one of the best women's basketball clubs in Greece during the 1950s and the early 1960s, when they won 3 Women's Division Center Championships (1956, 1958, 1959), which was the most important competition of Greek women's basketball at the time (until 1967–68 when the Greek Women's Basketball League was officially organized). The department was dissolved in the mid-1960s and after a long period of inactivity, it was reorganized in 2015. The Greek Basket League (GBL), often also referred to as the Greek A1 Basketball League, or Greek Basketball Championship (originally called Panhellenic Basketball Championship), and also known as the Stoiximan Basket League for sponsorship reasons, is the first tier level professional basketball league in Greece. It is run by HEBA ( el, ΕΣΑΚΕ, link=no), under the legal authority of the Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.). It is the highest-tier level of the Greek league system.
