Chakori (actress)
Chakori () a.k.a. Chakori Begum; (1947 – 2 November 2010) was a film actress from Sindh, Pakistan. She worked in Sindhi, Punjabi and Urdu films till the 1990s. Early life Her real name was Khawar Sultana. She was born in 1947 in Hyderabad, Sindh to a famous dancer Surieyaya. Whereas, according to her family, she was born in Gujrat, India. She was famous for her role ''Daro Natni'' in Maula Jatt (1979 film). Career Chakori's was introduced in Sindhi cinema film Shehro Feroz in 1968, later her movie was Mehboob Mitha of Sindhi cinema, which was released in 1971. This movie was directed by A.Q Peerzado and musician was J.S Gorchani. Chakori worked in this movie as a side heroine. Later she did Urdu film ''Janwar'' in 1972 and Punjabi film ''Kon Sharif Kon Badmash'' in 1977. Meanwhile, she did the movie ''Piyaar taa'n Sadqay'' under the direction of Babu Bhai. Hyderabad, Sindh
Hyderabad ( Sindhi and ur, ; ) is a city and the capital of Hyderabad Division in the Sindh province of Pakistan. It is the second-largest city in Sindh, and the eighth largest in Pakistan. Sindhi Language Authority (SLA) ( sd, سنڌي ٻولي جو با اختيار ادارو) ( ur, سندھی زبان کا با اختیار ادارہ) is an autonomous body under the administrative control of the Culture Tourism and Antiquities Department of the Government of Sindh province in Pakistan. SLA was established under the act ''Use of Sindhi Language Act 1972'', and ''the Teaching, Promotion and Use of Sindhi Language (Amendment) Act, 1990'' of Government of Sindh Provincial Assembly. ''Encyclopedia Sindhiana'' ( sd, انسائيڪلوپيڊيا سنڌيانا), published by the Sindhi Language Authority, is a general knowledge encyclopedia specially covering a wide range of information regarding Sindh. A total of fifteen volumes are planned to be published. Eleven volumes have been published so far. About eighty percent of the content is about Sindh, while the rest covers different important topics relating to the world and universe. History The ''Encyclopedia Sindhiana'' is a project of the Sindhi Language Authority. The project was initially started under the supervision of Ghulam Ali Allana but was soon discontinued due to unknown reasons. Aasia Begum, better known as simply Aasia, (13 November 1952 – 9 March 2013) was a Pakistani film actress who was active in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Early life Aasia was born in 1952 as Firdous in Patiala, Punjab, India. She emigrated from India to Pakistan. She resided in New York after retiring from her career, where she died on 9 March 2013, aged 60. Career She had made her debut in the Pakistani film industry in 1970 in a film by producer Shabab Kiranwi. In the same year, she also acted in film director Riaz Shahid's movie ''Gharnata'' (1970). Aasia acted in more than 179 Punjabi movies, including also several Urdu films. Aasia is best remembered for her role of 'Mukkho' in the Punjabi film '' Maula Jatt'' (1979). Anjuman Shaheen ( ur, ), is a Pakistani film actress and singer. She was one of the most successful Punjabi film heroines of Pakistan during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. She was born in Bahawalpur. Anjuman's parents were from Ahmadpur East, settled in Multan where Anjuman was brought up. She later moved to Lahore.
