Chai Yee Wei
Chai Yee Wei ( zh, s=蔡于位, p=Cài Yúweì; born 21 June 1976), is a Singaporean film director, writer and producer. He is also the founder oMocha Chai LaboratoriesanA Little Seed an authorised Apple iTunes aggregator. He also founded production company Hot Cider Films, Japanese curry specialty restaurant Curry Favor, as well as an IT company and wedding photography businesses. Career Chai's debut feature film '' Blood Ties'', which premiered on 10 September 2009, was funded under the Singapore Film Commission's New Feature Film Fund. Chai had also made countless comedy shorts, such as ''Loser, Lau Sai (Diarrhoea)'' and ''My Blue Heaven'', amongst others. ''Twisted'', released in Malaysia in 2011, is Chai's second feature film. Cai (surname)
Cài () is a Chinese-language surname that derives from the name of the ancient Cai state. ''Xinyao'' () is a genre of songs that is unique to Singapore. It is a contemporary Mandarin vocal genre that emerged and rose to fame in Singapore between the late 1970s to 1980s. ''Xinyao'' songs are composed and sung by Singaporeans and it is an outlet for them to express their thoughts and feelings around themes like friendships or love stories. ''Xinyao'' is a Chinese noun comprising two words: ''Xīn'' (新) which is an abbreviation for Singapore, and ''yáo'' (谣) for song. Catholic Junior College (CJC) () is a junior college in Singapore, offering a two-year course for pre-university students leading to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examination. Founded in 1975, Catholic Junior College was the third junior college to be established in Singapore. Toa Payoh Ritual Murders
The Toa Payoh ritual murders took place in Singapore in 1981. On 25 January, the body of a nine-year-old girl was found at a block of public housing flats in the town of Toa Payoh, and two weeks later, the body of a ten-year-old boy was found nearby. The murders were masterminded by Adrian Lim, a self-styled healer who pretended to have supernatural powers and scammed people for years. He had also been sexually assaulting female clients, often preying on younger women from impoverished backgrounds. Two clients later engaged in a relationship with him. They were: Tan Mui Choo, who he married, and Hoe Kah Hong, who was his "holy wife"—a term he used to manipulate women into having sex with him.
