Chael Sonnen's Wrestling Underground is an amateur wrestling Promoter (entertainment), promotion company based on Oregon, Oregon, United States and ran by Chael Sonnen. The promotion made its debut on August 30, 2020 via UFC Fight Pass. Ruleset Despite the events being held inside an octagon, the rules remain similar to the traditional Freestyle wrestling, freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, Greco-Roman (which are provided by United World Wrestling), as per stated by the promotion's founder Chael Sonnen and seen in the first card held. Chael Sonnen
Chael Patrick Sonnen (; born April 3, 1977) is an American submission grappling promoter, mixed martial arts (MMA) analyst, and retired mixed martial artist. Beginning his MMA career in 1997, Sonnen competed for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he became a top contender in both the light heavyweight and middleweight divisions and challenged for both the UFC Light Heavyweight and UFC Middleweight Championships. Sonnen has also fought in World Extreme Cagefighting, Pancrase, and most recently for Bellator MMA. Sonnen is often considered one of the best mixed martial artists never to have won a major MMA world championship and one of the sport's greatest trash-talkers. Joseph Christopher McKenna (born August 3, 1995 in Towaco, New Jersey) is an American freestyle wrestler and graduated folkstyle wrestler who competes internationally at 65 kilograms and competed collegiately at 141 pounds. Ben Provisor (born June 26, 1990 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin) is an American wrestler. He won the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials at 74 kg GR, and competed at the 2012 Olympics. He also competed at the 2016 Olympics. Personal life He is the son of musician Dennis Provisor, former keyboard player for the rock band The Grass Roots. He is married to wrestler Leigh Jaynes.
