Chadstone is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Monash local government area. Chadstone recorded a population of 9,552 at the 2021 census. Landmarks include the Waverley Basketball Centre, Jordanville Community Centre and the Matthew Flinders Hotel. Scotchmans Creek runs along Chadstone's southern boundary, the Glen Waverley railway line along the northern boundary, Warrigal Road to the west and Huntingdale Road to the east. The Monash Freeway runs through the suburb. History Many of the houses in the Chadstone area were built in the postwar period using prefabricated concrete produced at the current site of Holmesglen Institute. Mount Waverley is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Monash local government area. Jordanville Railway Station
Jordanville railway station is a commuter railway station in the suburb of Mount Waverley in the south east of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The station opened in 1930 as a part of the extension from East Malvern to Glen Waverley. The station consists of a single island platform which is connected to Winsor Avenue and Huntingdale Road via a pedestrian subway. Chadstone High School
Chadstone High School (State School number 7710) was a former Victorian Government high school, located in the Melbourne suburb of Chadstone. Chadstone High School was often referred to as "Chaddy High". History The school was established in the late 1950s in what was then a rapidly growing outer-suburban area. It initially operated out of demountable classrooms until a purpose-built three storey school building was finished in the early 1960s. The RK Senior Hall (named after one of the school's principals) was constructed in the 1970s. It was established adjacent to the Chadstone Park Primary School. History Since its inception in 1982, Holmesglen has grown from a delivery of 90 programs to 7,000 students, to its current offering of over 600 programs to more than 50,000 students. Warrigal Road
Warrigal Road is a major inner urban road in southeastern Melbourne, Australia. On weekdays, it is heavily trafficked as it runs through many major suburbs along its route, traversing some of Melbourne's eastern and south-eastern suburbs. These suburbs include Chadstone, Oakleigh, and Cheltenham. The Chadstone Shopping Centre can be accessed directly from Warrigal Road at its eastern entrance. Glen Waverley Railway Line
The Glen Waverley railway line is a suburban electric railway in Melbourne, Australia, operated by Metro Trains Melbourne. It branches from the Lilydale, Belgrave and Alamein lines at Burnley station. It has 12 stations in PTV ticketing zones 1 and 2. Description The Glen Waverley line leaves the Lilydale, Belgrave and Alamein lines at Burnley, and crosses the Yarra River and the Monash Freeway on the Heyington Bridge to follow the freeway and the valley of Gardiners Creek through seven stations to Holmesglen. Next it rises through Jordanville and Mount Waverley stations, before reaching a peak just over above sea level west of Lawrence Road. Scotchmans Creek Trail
__NOTOC__ The Scotchmans Creek Trail is a shared use path for cyclists and pedestrians, which follows Scotchmans Creek through the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It runs from East Malvern railway station through to Jells Park although several sections consist of normal residential streets. The trail provides good access to Chadstone Shopping Centre and Holmesglen Institute of TAFE for the local community. The trail passes through Valley Reserve in Mount Waverley, which is one of the last remaining stands of indigenous vegetation in the local area. Although Scotchmans Creek Trail is widely recognized as ending in the west at East Malvern Railway Station, some sources have the trail's west end at Warrigal Rd. 2021 Australian Census
The 2021 Australian census, simply called the 2021 Census, was the eighteenth national Census of Population and Housing in Australia. The 2021 Census took place on 10 August 2021, and was conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
