Chad National Football Team
The Chad national football team ( ar, منتخب تشاد لكرة القدم, french: Équipe du Tchad de football), nicknamed ''Sao'' ( ar, ساو), represents Chad in international football and is controlled by the Chadian Football Federation, the governing body for football in the country. The team has never qualified for the World Cup finals or Africa Cup of Nations. Home matches are played at the Idriss Mahamat Ouya Stadium. In April 2021, FIFA banned the Chad national football team from participating in global football over the Chadian government's interference with the Chadian Football Federation. History The Chadian Football Federation was founded in 1962, and affiliated to FIFA and to CAF in 1988. Chad's national football team did not play a big role in world football until the 1990s. Massama Asselmo
Massama Asselmo (born 1 June 1990) is a Chadian football player and a member of the Chad national football team. Club career He played club football in Foullah Edifice in Chad where he won national championship in 2011, and Coupe de Ligue de N'Djaména in 2010. He wore number 15, and captained the team. In 2012, he was transferred to US Bitam, in Gabon. In 2015 he moved to O'Mbila Nziami, and in 2017 to Colombe Sportive Sangmélima in Cameroon. In the season 2017/18 he played for Ethiopian club Wolaitta Dicha. International career Asselmo played in 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualification matches against Togo home and away, Botswana home and away, Tunisia home and away, Malawi away. In a match against Botswana on 26 March 2011 he was the captain of the team. So far, he has 13 FIFA official and 5 unofficial caps and 1 unofficial goal for Chad. Armand Djérabé (born 11 September 1980 in N'Djamena) is a Chadian footballer who plays for CotonTchad. Career Djérabé has played in Cameroon for Cotonsport Garoua and three years for Lions de l'Atakory. He played the 2010 season for Requins de l'Atlantique FC in the Benin Premier League and returned in summer 2010 to Chad where signed with Gazelle FC. After Gazelle, he played for Tourbillon, and Foullah Edifice. Mamadou Bouba (born 17 February 1988, in N'Djamena, Chad) is a footballer from Chad, who plays as a goalkeeper for Sudanese club Watachim Sinnar. Career He started his career with Sahel FC. He moved to Ascot in 2003, where he stayed until 2008, when he moved to Cameroon, where his next club was Panthère du Ndé. Now he plays for Sudanese club Watachim Sinnar. International career Bouba debuted for Chad on 27 May 2005 in a friendly match against Sudan (1:1). He also played in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations qualification matches against South Africa, both home and away. He played on 2006, 2008 and 2009 CEMAC Cup.
