''CexCells'' (pronounced "Sex Sells") is the debut studio album by the American electronic music, electronic duo Blaqk Audio. It was initially scheduled to be released on August 7, 2007, however, it was rescheduled and released a week further on August 14, 2007 through Interscope Records. It debuted at number 18 on the ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' Billboard 200, 200, selling more than 29,000 copies within its first week. It received mixed reviews from music critics. Blaqk Audio is an American electronic music duo, formed by current AFI members Davey Havok and Jade Puget under Interscope Records. Their debut album, ''CexCells'', was released on August 14, 2007, and reached number eighteen on the ''Billboard'' 200. The band's second album, ''Bright Black Heaven'', was released on September 11, 2012, under Superball Music's imprint Big Death. ''Bright Black Heaven'' is the second studio album by American electronica band Blaqk Audio, consisting of Davey Havok and Jade Puget of AFI, released on September 11, 2012 under Superball Music's imprint Big Death. The album title was first revealed in October 2009 in an interview with Jade on myYearbook, and the album itself had been completed as of December 2, 2011. The first single, "Faith Healer", was released on August 14. Background information The album is a follow-up to 2007's ''CexCells'', and it was ready before AFI's ''Crash Love'' (2009), but Puget said that he and Havok felt that "if all of a sudden we're doing two Blaqk Audio records in a row people will think AFI is not happening or something." They continued to write new songs for the album since they finished ''Crash Love'', so ''Bright Black Heaven'' may have undergone some changes before its eventual release. David Paden Marchand (born David Paden Passaro, November 20, 1975), known professionally as Davey Havok, is an American singer and musician who is the lead vocalist of the rock band AFI, the synth-pop band Blaqk Audio, the hardcore punk band XTRMST, and the new wave band Dreamcar. Amongst various other ventures, he performed lead vocals for Son of Sam's debut album and for fictional band My Purple Agony in the animated series ''Harvey Girls Forever!''. Havok is an outspoken advocate of the straight edge lifestyle and veganism. Jade Errol Puget (born November 28, 1973) is an American musician and producer, best known as the guitarist for the rock band AFI (joined in 1998), the guitarist/writer for the straight edge hardcore band XTRMST, and the keyboardist/synthesizer operator for the electronic duo Blaqk Audio. Puget is vegetarian and straight edge. Career Before joining AFI on November 2, 1998, Jade Puget played in various bands, including Loose Change and Redemption 87. His first album with AFI was 1999's ''Black Sails in the Sunset''. The first song he wrote for the band was "Malleus Maleficarum". Puget's addition to the band introduced fans to a more melodically acute and dynamic sound that was vastly different from earlier material.
