Cesare Bertolla ( Lucca, 1845 - Rome, 1920) was an Italian painter, described as specializing in the painting of landscapes with animals and figures from the marshy and malarial (''Paludi'') regions, painting in areas around Rome. Lucca ( , ) is a city and ''comune'' in Tuscany, Central Italy, on the Serchio River, in a fertile plain near the Ligurian Sea. Carlo Ferrari
Carlo Ferrari (1813–1871), called il Ferrarin, was an Italian painter. Biography He was born in Verona and studied sporadically at the Cignaroli Academy of Fine Arts there, while practising as a copyist and restorer in the studio of the fresco painter Pietro Nanin. Ferrari made his debut at the 1837 exhibition at the Verona Academy with a series of views of the city enlivened by genre episodes inspired by Flemish painting. These would become typical subjects in the most successful part of his repertoire. During the 1840s he received increasing public and critical acclaim, which coincided with his participating more frequently in exhibitions, such as the one at the Academy in Venice in 1839 and at the Brescia Atheneum in 1840 and the Esposizione di Belle Arti at the Brera Academy in Milan in 1844, and also established himself as one of the leading Veronese painters during the Restoration period. Enrico Coleman
Enrico Coleman (21 or 25 June 1846 – 14 February 1911) was an Italian painter of British nationality. He was the son of the English painter Charles Coleman and brother of the less well-known Italian painter Francesco Coleman. He painted, in oils and in watercolours, the landscapes of the Campagna Romana and the Agro Pontino; he was a collector, grower and painter of orchids. Because of his supposedly Oriental air, he was known to his friends as "Il Birmano", the Burmese. Life Enrico Coleman was born in Rome in June 1846. Onorato Carlandi
Onorato Carlandi (15 May 1848, in Rome – 11 April 1939, in Rome) was an Italian painter, mainly of watercolors of Rome, the surrounding countryside and of Great Britain. He was married to the painter, Lina Haverty (?-1950), daughter of the Irish historian and journalist, Martin Haverty. Biography His grandfather was Fortunato Pio Castellani, founder of the eponymous jewelry company. He was originally destined for a career as a lawyer, but went against his family's wishes and enrolled at the Accademia di belle arti di Roma. At eighteen, he briefly served as a volunteer with the Cacciatori delle Alpi of Giuseppe Garibaldi. After completing his education at the Accademia, he moved to Naples to continue his training. Cesare Pascarella (28 April 1858 - 8 May 1940), was an Italian dialect poet and a painter. He was appointed to the Royal Academy of Italy in 1930. Pascarella was born in Rome and initially was a painter. His literary activity began in 1881 with the publication of sonnets in Romanesco dialect. In the same period he made friends with Gabriele D'Annunzio. He made a series of journeys through Africa, India and the Americas in 1882–1885. On his return to Rome he published the collection '' Villa Glori'', who was hailed as a masterwork by Giosuè Carducci. Also well received was the imaginative ''La scoperta dell'America'' (1893).
