Ceremony To The Sunset
''Ceremony to the Sunset'' is the debut studio album by Yawning Sons, a collaborative musical project formed by members of American band Yawning Man and British band Sons of Alpha Centauri. It was released on June 15, 2009, by Lexicon Devil Records, with a deluxe vinyl edition released by Alone Records on October 25, 2014. Production In 2008, Gary Arce of Yawning Man was invited to the United Kingdom by the band Sons of Alpha Centauri to produce new tracks, but upon arrival, the idea of simply producing the record was scrapped. Within one week, Arce and Sons of Alpha Centauri had written and recorded an entire album's worth of material together, working at Ranscombe Studios in Rochester, Kent with Jim Riley as their producer. Yawning Sons
Yawning Sons is a British-American collaborative musical project formed in 2008 by members of the psychedelic rock bands Yawning Man and Sons of Alpha Centauri. Often associated with the Palm Desert Scene, the project's nature has been compared to The Desert Sessions project founded by Josh Homme. History In 2008, Yawning Man guitarist Gary Arce was invited to the United Kingdom by Sons of Alpha Centauri to produce new tracks, but upon arrival, the idea of simply producing the record was scrapped. Richard File (born 19 November 1975) is a British composer, music producer, and vocalist best known for his work with James Lavelle as part of Unkle. He has also released singles under the alias Forme. Career File joined Unkle in 1999, having remixed "Unreal" (from the debut album ''Psyence Fiction'') with added vocals from Ian Brown. For the subsequent Unkle albums ''Never, Never, Land'' (2004) and '' War Stories'' (2007), File is credited with piano, organ, synthesizer, guitar, and vocals, as well as co-production. Bongo Drum
Bongos ( es, bongó) are an Afro-Cuban percussion instrument consisting of a pair of small open bottomed hand drums of different sizes. They are struck with both hands, most commonly in an eight-stroke pattern called ''martillo'' (hammer). The larger drum is called a hembra (Spanish for female) and the smaller drum is called the macho (Spanish for male). They are mainly employed in the rhythm section of son cubano and salsa ensembles, often alongside other drums such as the larger congas and the stick-struck timbales. Wendy Rae Fowler is an American singer and half of the experimental English rock band We Fell to Earth. Career In fall of 1998, Fowler joined Earthlings? as second bassist. Immediately following, Earthlings? supported Queens of the Stone Age on a small tour of the west coast of America as well as a European tour supporting QOTSA's self-titled debut album. Fowler, under the QOTSA-appointed pseudonym 'Wendy Ray Moan', contributed backing vocals on two songs on QOTSA's second release Rated R. She has also appeared in four of the bands' videos between 2000 and 2007. The lap steel guitar, also known as a Hawaiian guitar, is a type of steel guitar without pedals that is typically played with the instrument in a horizontal position across the performer's lap.
