Central Station (Edmonton)
Central station is an Edmonton Light Rail Transit station in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It serves both the Capital Line and the Metro Line. It is an underground station located beneath Jasper Avenue between 100 Street and 101 Street. History Central LRT Station was one of the original five stations when the line opened on April 22, 1978. When the LRT first opened, Central station was the original southern terminus. ETS once operated a Transit Information kiosk at 100A Street and Jasper Avenue, above the station; however, it has since been relocated to the Edmonton Tower. The building now serves as an entrance for users requiring an elevator to get to the station platform. The concourse level of the station was renovated in 2013, which included the complete replacement of ceilings, washrooms and signage. Edmonton Tower, is a 29-storey tall, office building in the Ice District area of Edmonton, Alberta. It opened in mid-December 2016. In total it has of retail space, and over of office lease-able area. It is Edmonton's eighth tallest building. ATB Place, formerly Telus Plaza, is an office complex in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Originally built as the headquarters of Alberta Government Telephones (AGT), the two office towers in the complex–ATB Place Tower and TELUS house– serve as the headquarters of ATB Financial and the Alberta provincial headquarters for Telus, respectively. The south tower, TELUS House (formerly TELUS Plaza South, and originally the AGT Tower (Alberta Government Telephones Tower)), was completed in 1971, at a cost of Can$22 million. Manulife Place is a highrise office building and shopping mall in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was completed in 1983 and designed by Clifford Lawrie Bolton Ritchie Architects.
