Central Unitaria De Traballadores
The Central Unitaria de Traballadores (CUT, ''Workers Unitary Central'' or ''Workers Unitary Confederation'' in English language) is a Galician union created in the December 1998 after a split with the Confederación Intersindical Galega. The CUT has very close ties with the Galician People's Front. The founding congress was held in Vigo on 19 April 1999. The CUT defines itself as a class union, which aims to defend the interests of the working class. The organization also defends active and combative unionism, as opposed to the mild tactics of the main unions, specially Workers Commissions and the Unión General de Trabajadores. It has a Galician nationalist and socialist ideology. The CUT has offices in Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña, Vigo, Cangas do Morrazo and Ribeira. World Federation Of Trade Unions
The World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) is an international federation of trade unions established in 1945. Founded in the immediate aftermath of World War Two, the organization built on the pre-war legacy of the International Federation of Trade Unions as a single structure for trade unions world-wide. With the emergence of the Cold War in the late 1940s, the WFTU splintered, with most trade unions from the Western-aligned countries leaving and creating the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions (ICFTU) in 1949. Throughout the Cold War, membership of the WFTU was made up predominantly of trade unions from the Soviet-aligned and non-aligned countries. Cangas, Pontevedra
Cangas, also known as Cangas do Morrazo, is a seaside resort in southwestern Galicia, Spain. It is both a town and municipality in the province of Pontevedra. Its area is about 38,1 km² and has a population of around 26,087 inhabitants. Ferrol (comarca)
Ferrol is a coastal ''comarca'' in the northwest of the province of A Coruña, Galicia, Spain. It is also known as Ferrolterra. The area is 613.4 km2, and the overall population of this ''comarca'' was 161,154 at the 2011 Census; the latest official estimate (at the start of 2018) was 153,776.Estimate at 1 January 2018: Instituto Nacional de Estadística, Madrid. Municipalities It is composed of 11 municipalities, two of which are considered cities (Ferrol and Narón). Ribeira, Galicia
Ribeira is the capital of the comarca of Barbanza, in the province of A Coruña in the autonomous community of Galicia in northwestern Spain. The capital and most populous urban center is Santa Uxía de Ribeira. Another of its major points is the center of San Martin de Oleiros. The municipality is administratively divided into nine civil parishes: Aguiño, Artes, Carreira, Castiñeiras, Corrubedo, Oleiros, Olveira, Palmeira and Ribeira. Galician nationalism is a form of nationalism found mostly in Galicia, which asserts that Galicians are a nation and that promotes the cultural unity of Galicians. The political movement referred to as modern Galician nationalism was born at the beginning of the twentieth century from the idea of Galicianism. Ideology Historians, geographers and ethnologists recognize the existence of a Galician ethnic group, forming a singular unit in a specific territory. However, this is a wide conceptualization that in political terms allows many possible variants.
