Central Sparks
Central Sparks are a women's cricket team that represent the West Midlands region, one of eight regional hubs in English domestic women's cricket. They play their home matches at Edgbaston and New Road. They are captained by Evelyn Jones and coached by Lloyd Tennant. The team is partnered with Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire. History In 2020, women's cricket in England was restructured, creating eight new 'regional hub' teams, with the intention of playing both 50-over and 20-over cricket. Central Sparks were one of the sides created under this structure, representing the West Midlands and partnered with Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire. The side was to be captained by Evelyn Jones and coached by Lloyd Tennant. Evelyn Jones
Evelyn Jones (born 8 August 1992) is an English cricketer who currently captains Central Sparks, as well as playing for Warwickshire and Birmingham Phoenix. She plays primarily as a left-handed opening batter, as well as bowling left-arm medium. She has previously played for Shropshire, Staffordshire and Lancashire, as well as for Loughborough Lightning and Lancashire Thunder in the Women's Cricket Super League, New Zealand side Canterbury Magicians and Women's Big Bash League team Melbourne Renegades. At the end of the 2021 season, Jones was voted the PCA Player of the Year for her performances that year. Early life Jones was born on 8 August 1992 in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Gwenan Davies
Gwenan Mai Davies (born 12 May 1994) is a Welsh cricketer who currently plays for Warwickshire. She plays as a wicket-keeper and left-handed batter, as well as occasionally bowling right-arm medium-fast. She has previously played for Wales, Somerset and Central Sparks, as well as Yorkshire Diamonds and Surrey Stars in the Women's Cricket Super League and Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred. Early life Davies was born on 12 May 1994 in Neath, Wales. She works as Head of Girls' Cricket at Shrewsbury School. Domestic career Davies made her debut for Wales in a 2007 County Challenge Cup against Oxfordshire. She scored 22 * in a 174 run victory. Emily Louise Arlott (born 23 February 1998) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Worcestershire, Central Sparks and Birmingham Phoenix. She plays primarily as a right-arm medium-fast bowler. In June 2021, Arlott received her maiden call-up to the England women's cricket team, ahead of their home series against India. Early life Arlott was born on 23 February 1998 in King's Lynn, Norfolk. She has worked as a Cricket Community Coach. Marie Kelly (born 9 February 1996) is an English cricketer who is currently the captain of Warwickshire, as well as playing for The Blaze, Northern Superchargers and Trinbago Knight Riders. She plays primarily as a right-handed batter. She led Warwickshire to the 2019 Women's Twenty20 Cup title, and was the leading run-scorer in Division 1 that year. Lloyd Tennant
Lloyd Tennant (born 9 April 1968) is an English former cricketer active from 1986 to 1995 who played for Leicestershire. He appeared in ten first-class matches as a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm medium fast. In first-class cricket, he scored 110 runs with a highest score of 23 * and took fifteen wickets with a best performance of four for 54. In retirement, he served on the Leicestershire coaching staff until 2015. He proved successful in leading the club's 2nd XI. 2022 Charlotte Edwards Cup
The 2022 Charlotte Edwards Cup was the second edition of the Charlotte Edwards Cup, an English women's cricket Women's Twenty20, Twenty20 domestic competition, which took place between 14 May and 11 June 2022. It featured eight teams playing in two round-robin tournament, double round-robin groups, followed by a Finals Day. The tournament ran alongside the 2022 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy. The tournament was named after former England captain Charlotte Edwards. Northern Diamonds are a women's cricket team that represent the traditional areas of the North East and Yorkshire, one of eight regional hubs in English domestic women's cricket. They play their home matches at Headingley, the Riverside, Roseworth Terrace and North Marine Road. They are captained by Hollie Armitage and coached by former England cricketer Danielle Hazell. The team carries over elements of the WCSL team Yorkshire Diamonds, and are partnered with Yorkshire, Durham and Northumberland. Hat-trick (cricket)
In cricket, a hat-trick occurs when a bowler takes three wickets with consecutive deliveries. The deliveries may be interrupted by an over bowled by another bowler from the other end of the pitch or the other team's innings, but must be three consecutive deliveries by the individual bowler in the same match. Only wickets attributed to the bowler count towards a hat-trick; run outs do not count, although they can contribute towards a so-called team hat-trick, which is ostensibly a normal hat-trick except that the three successive deliveries can be wickets from any bowler in the team and with any mode of dismissal. Southern Vipers
The Southern Vipers are a women's cricket team that represent the South of England. The Vipers wear an orange and black kit and play their home matches at the Ageas Bowl and the County Cricket Ground, Hove. They are currently coached by former England Women's captain and former player Charlotte Edwards. The Southern Vipers are partnered with Hampshire, Sussex, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Dorset, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight Cricket Board. Western Storm
Western Storm are a women's cricket team representing South West England and Wales, one of eight regional hubs in English domestic cricket. They play their home matches at the County Ground, Taunton, the County Ground, Bristol and Sophia Gardens. They are captained by Sophie Luff and coached by Trevor Griffin. The team is partnered with Somerset, Gloucestershire, Glamorgan, Devon, Cornwall, Wiltshire and Cricket Wales. Not Out
In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Occurrence At least one batter is not out at the end of every innings, because once ten batters are out, the eleventh has no partner to bat on with so the innings ends. Amy Ellen Jones is an English cricketer who plays as a wicket-keeper and right-handed batter for Warwickshire, Central Sparks, Birmingham Phoenix and England.
