Central Organization Commission Of The Communist Party Of Vietnam
The Organization Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, called the Central Organization Department from 1930 to 1951, is an advisory body to the Central Committee that is directly subordinate to the Politburo. It is one of the most important institutions in Vietnamese politics by having the main responsibilities being to nominate and to approve the appointment of officials throughout the country. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (Vietnamese: ''Ban Chấp hành Trung ương Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam'') is the highest decision-making body of the party between convocations of the National Congress. History The Central Committee was established on 3 February 1930 when the Communist Party of Indochina and the Communist Party of Annam merged. In between Central Committee plenary sessions the main decision-making bodies of the party are the Politburo and the Secretariat. The Political Bureau (Politburo) of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam ( vi, Bộ Chính trị Ban Chấp hành Trung ương Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam), formerly the Standing Committee of the Central Committee from 1930 to 1951, is the highest body of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) between Central Committee meetings, which are held at least twice a year. According to Party rules, the Politburo directs the general orientation of the government and enacts policies which have been approved by either the National Party Congress or the Central Committee. The members of the Politburo are elected and given a ranking by the Central Committee in the immediate aftermath of a National Party Congress. The politics of Vietnam is dominated by a single party, the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV). The President of Vietnam is the head of state, and the Prime Minister of Vietnam is the head of government, both of these are separate from the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam who leads the Communist Party and is head of the Politburo and the Central Military Commission, thus the General Secretary is the ''de facto'' supreme leader of Vietnam. Lê Đức Thọ (; 14 October 1911 – 13 October 1990), born Phan Đình Khải in Nam Dinh Province, was a Vietnamese revolutionary, general, diplomat, and politician. He was the first Asian to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, jointly with United States Secretary of State Henry Kissinger in 1973, but refused the award. Lê Phước Thọ (25 December 1927 – 6 July 2023), commonly known as Sáu Hậu, was a Vietnamese politician. He was a member of the seventh electoral term of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam, a member of the Secretariat for the sixth and seventh electoral term, a member of the Central Committee from the fifth to seventh electoral term. Moreover, he was an alternate of the Central Committee's fourth term. He served as the head of the Central Committee of Agriculture, the head of the Organisation Department, and secretary of Hậu Giang Provincial Party Committee.
