Central Military District (Sweden)
The Central Military District ( sv, Mellersta militärdistriktet, MD M) was a Military district (Sweden), military district within the Swedish Armed Forces from 2000 to 2005. Its staff was located in Strängnäs, Sweden. The military district included Stockholm County, Stockholm, Uppsala County, Uppsala, Södermanland County, Södermanland, Östergötland County, Östergötland, Värmland County, Värmland, Örebro County, Örebro, Västmanland County, Västmanland, Dalarna County, Dalarna and Gävleborg County, Gävleborg counties. History Prior to the Defence Act of 2000 (Sweden), Defence Act of 2000, the Swedish government proposed that the tactical level should be reduced by disbanding Division (Sweden), divisional and defence district staffs as well as Military subdivisions of Sweden#Naval command (1957–1966, 1986–2000), naval commands and Military subdivisions of Sweden#Air command (1994–2000), air commands.
