Ayrshire Central Hospital
Ayrshire Central Hospital, also known as Irvine Central Hospital, is an NHS hospital in Irvine, North Ayrshire, Scotland. It is managed by NHS Ayrshire and Arran. History Formation The hospital is constructed on land which was formerly part of the southern portions of the Eglinton Castle Estate. The hospital, which was designed by William Reid and commissioned by the now defunct Ayr County Council, was built from 1936 and was opened in stages from 1941 and became fully operational by 1944. The hospital was constructed as a series of pavilions. It joined the National Health Service in 1948. Flooding incident On 1 December 2005 the maternity building was flooded by a burst water tank. The flooding threatened the special care baby unit and took fire crews from Dreghorn, Kilwinning and Kilmarnock 3 hours to control. Central Hospital, Hatton
Central Hospital was a psychiatric hospital located in Hatton, Warwickshire, England. History Building began in 1846 on a site purchased from the Earl of Warwick and was completed in 1852, the first patients moving in on 30 June. It was originally named the Warwick County Lunatic Asylum and from 1930-1948 the Warwickshire County Mental Hospital. A classic Victorian asylum built on a grand scale in the gothic style, it at one point housed 1,600 patients. Eventually gaining over of land, the hospital patients provided most of their own food from three farms in the grounds and a spring supplied it with water. Many of the staff lived there too, it was more like a village than a hospital. It even had its own sports pitches, coffin maker and a chapel which was completed in 1862. Central Middlesex Hospital
Central Middlesex Hospital is in the centre of the Park Royal business estate, on the border of two London boroughs, Brent and Ealing. It is managed by the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. History The hospital was established as an infirmary for sick paupers at the Willesden Workhouse in 1903. Extensions were built in 1908, 1911 and 1914. The facility became the Willesden Institution in 1914, the Park Royal Hospital in 1921 and the Central Middlesex County Hospital in 1931. The hospital was badly damaged by enemy bombing during the Second World War. After the hospital joined the National Health Service in 1948, major additions included a maternity unit opened in 1966 and Ambulatory Care and Diagnostic Centre for out-patients opened in 1999. Hong Kong Central Hospital () was a non-profit, general private hospital located in the Central area of Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. Services The hospital's services include a large number of specialties which cover a broad area of medicine. At its height, the hospital carried out 60% of Hong Kong's abortions. HKCH is a member of the Hong Kong Private Hospitals Association. It was surveyed bi-annually by the Trent Accreditation Scheme, a UK-based major international healthcare accreditation scheme, but is currently not accredited by any independent accreditation scheme. Closure The hospital closed on 1 September 2012, following a dispute that stretched back to 2009, and is the first private hospital in the city to close its doors. Pirkanmaa (; sv, Birkaland; la, Birkaria, link=no), also known as ''Tampere Region'' in government documents, is a region of Finland. It borders the regions of Satakunta, South Ostrobothnia, Central Finland, Päijät-Häme, Kanta-Häme and Southwest Finland.
