Center For Financial Studies
The Center for Financial Studies (CFS) (Gesellschaft für Kapitalmarktforschung), located in Frankfurt am Main, is an independent research institute affiliated to the Goethe University Frankfurt. CFS conducts independent and internationally oriented research on important topics in finance. It serves as a forum for dialogue between academia, policy makers and the financial industry. It also provides a platform for high-level basic as well as applied research of relevance to the European financial sector. Its president is Axel A. Weber, former President of Deutsche Bundesbank and former Chairman of the board of UBS Group AG. Otmar Issing is Honorary President. Directors are Andreas Hackethal and Rainer Klump. Goethe University (german: link=no, Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main) is a university located in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It was founded in 1914 as a citizens' university, which means it was founded and funded by the wealthy and active liberal citizenry of Frankfurt. The original name was Universität Frankfurt am Main. Otmar Issing
Otmar Issing (born 27 March 1936 in Würzburg) is a German economist who served as a member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank from 1998 to 2006 and concurrently as ECB chief economist. He developed the 'two-pillar' approach to monetary policy decision-making that the ECB has adopted. After leaving the Executive Board, Issing been serving as president of the Center for Financial Studies since 2006. Life Issing studied economics at the University of Würzburg from 1955 until 1960 with temporary studies in London and Paris. From 1960 to 1966 he worked as a research assistant at the University of Würzburg. He earned his PhD in 1961 and received his postdoctoral lecture qualification (habilitation) in 1965. Andreas Hackethal is a Professor of Finance and the Dean of the Goethe Business School at Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany. Life Andreas Hackethal earned his degrees in Business Administration from Goethe University in Frankfurt and the University of Iowa. Jürgen Fitschen (born 1 September 1948 in Harsefeld, Germany), sometimes rendered ''Juergen Fitschen'' in English, is a German banker who served as co-CEO of Deutsche Bank from 2012 to 2016.
