Celly Campello
Célia Campello Gomes Chacon, born Célia Benelli Campello, known by her stage name Celly Campello (18 June 1942 – 4 March 2003), was a Brazilian singer and performer, a pioneer in Brazilian rock. She also acted in the telenovela ''Estúpido Cupido''. Life Campello was born in São Paulo and raised in Taubaté. She started her career in an early age, performing at local radio shows when she was six years old. She studied piano, classical guitar and ballet during her childhood. Campello presented her own radio show when she was 12, at ''Rádio Cacique''. In 1958 she recorded her first vinyl in São Paulo together with her brother Tony Campello who accompanied her in most of her career. Her debut in television was at TV Tupi's ''Campeões do Disco'', in 1958. In 1959 she and Tony presented ''Celly e Tony em Hi-Fi'', at Rede Record, until 1961. Amácio Mazzaropi (São Paulo, April 9, 1912 – São Paulo, June 13, 1981) was a Brazilian actor and filmmaker. Biography A comic performer from a circus background, he became popular in Brazil with his character Jeca Tatu, a portrayal of the rural caipira. Mazzaropi debuted in cinema in 1951, with ''Sai da Frente.'' In 1958 he established his own film studio, PAM Filmes, producing and distributing his own movies. He died in São Paulo on June 13, 1981, of bone marrow cancer. Hollywood Rock was a music festival which took place in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, from 1988 to 1996, featuring both Brazilian and international acts. The festival was sponsored and organised by the Souza Cruz tobacco company, owners of the ''Hollywood (cigarette), Hollywood'' cigarette brand, taking its name from an unrelated festival that occurred in 1975 with an all-Brazilian lineup. After a law was passed by the Senate of Brazil prohibiting tobacco and alcohol companies from sponsoring cultural and sporting events, the festival was cancelled. The festival did not happen in 1989 or 1991 (the latter because of Rock in Rio, Rock in Rio 2 happening at around the same time in Rio de Janeiro).
