Cees Van Leeuwen
Cornelis Hubertus Johannes (Cees) van Leeuwen (born 1951) is a Dutch former member of parliament for the Pim Fortuyn List (LPF) from 2002 to 2003. Van Leeuwen was elected as a Member of the House of Representatives at the 2002 election and subsequently served as Secretary of State for Education, Culture and Science in the First Balkenende cabinet. The House of Representatives (, pronounced ; commonly referred to as the ', literally "Second Chamber of the States General") is the lower house of the bicameral parliament of the Netherlands, the States General, the other one being the Senate. It has 150 seats, which are filled through elections using party-list proportional representation. The Pim Fortuyn List ( nl, Lijst Pim Fortuyn, LPF) was a political party in the Netherlands named after its eponymous founder Pim Fortuyn, a former university professor and political columnist. The party was considered populist, right-wing populist and nationalist as well as adhering to its own distinct ideology of ''Fortuynism'' according to some commentators. Andeweg, R. and G. First Balkenende Cabinet
The first Balkenende cabinet was the executive branch of the Netherlands government from 22 July 2002 until 27 May 2003. The cabinet was formed by the Christian-democratic Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA), the nationalistic Pim Fortuyn List (LPF) and the conservative-liberal People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) after the election of 2002. The cabinet was a right-wing coalition and had a substantial majority in the House of Representatives with Christian Democratic Leader Jan Peter Balkenende serving as Prime Minister. Kayak (band)
Kayak is a Dutch rock band formed by Ton Scherpenzeel and Pim Koopman in Hilversum in 1972. In 1973, their debut album '' See See the Sun'' was released, including three hit singles. Their popularity was mainly in the Netherlands, with their top hit "Ruthless Queen" reaching No. 6 on the Dutch charts in March 1979. They disbanded in 1982 after releasing nine albums. In 1999, the band was asked to perform on the TV show ''De Vrienden van Amstel Live''. After this performance, they decided to reform, and released nine further studio albums and three live albums.
