Cedarburg School District
The Cedarburg School District is the public school district serving Cedarburg, Wisconsin. It was established in 1886. The first schools, built in 1887, were the Hamilton Schoolhouse, now located in the Hamilton Historic District of Cedarburg, and the first Cedarburg Public School, built in 1894. The Cedarburg Public School building now serves as the Cedarburg senior center. The district operates three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. The superintendent is Todd Bugnacki. Schools The three elementary schools in the Cedarburg School District serve students in kindergarten through fifth grade and have pre-kindergarten programs. They are all academically structured in the same way. English, math, science, and social studies are taught by the students' homeroom teachers. Cedarburg, Wisconsin
Cedarburg is a city in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. Located about north of Milwaukee and in close proximity to Interstate 43, it is a suburban community in the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The city incorporated in 1885, and at the time of the 2020 census the population was 12,121. Like many of Ozaukee County's cities and villages, the City of Cedarburg began as a mill town. German immigrants began building hydropowered gristmills and woolen mills along Cedar Creek in the 1840s. The community that sprang up around the mills is now downtown Cedarburg. The city was distinctly German into the early 20th century, with several Lutheran churches, a brewery, a European-style spa resort called Hilgen Spring Park, and many German cultural associations, including two Turner societies. Hamilton Historic District (Cedarburg, Wisconsin)
Hamilton is an unincorporated community located in the Town of Cedarburg, Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. Much of the community is part of the Hamilton Historic District, a site listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The NRHP-listed Concordia Mill is also located in the community. History Hamilton was settled by Irish immigrants in the early 1840s. It was originally named "New Dublin" and was the first white settlement in the Cedarburg area. The first documented resident was Joseph Gardenier, who built a log shanty on Cedar Creek as his headquarters for surveying for the construction of the Green Bay Road. It was renamed in 1847 after William S. Hamilton, a member of the legislature of the Wisconsin Territory and son of Alexander Hamilton, the first U.S. Secretary of Treasury. National Spelling Bee
The Scripps National Spelling Bee (formerly the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee and commonly called the National Spelling Bee) is an annual spelling bee held in the United States. The bee is run on a not-for-profit basis by The E. W. Scripps Company and is held at a hotel or convention center in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area during the week following Memorial Day weekend. Since 2011, it has been held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center hotel in National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland, just outside Washington D.C. The National Geographic GeoBee (called the National Geography Bee from 1989 to 2000 and the National Geographic Bee from 2001 to 2018, also referred to as the Nat Geo Bee) was an annual geography contest sponsored by the National Geographic Society.
