Ce'cile
Ce'cile (also spelled Cécile, born Cecile Claudine Charlton on 24 February 1976 in Manchester Parish, Jamaica), is a Jamaicans, Jamaican musician. She is among the best known current dancehall artists. Biography Ce'cile grew up in Porus, and Mile Gully, Jamaica, spending most of her youth in Mandeville, Jamaica, Mandeville, where her grandfather had previously been mayor. Ce' Cile discovered music through a friend of her father, Michael Cooper (musician), Michael "Ibo" Cooper from the reggae band Third World (band), Third World and brought out her first single "Beat of Her Heart". She added her own style to classical reggae and took it toward dancehall. In 1995, Steven Ventura, the owner of Celestial Sound Recordings, noticed her. Gold Dust (DJ Fresh Song)
"Gold Dust" is a song by British-based DJ and record producer DJ Fresh. It is the third single released from his second album ''Kryptonite''. Originally put out as a 12" in 2008, it was re-released in 2010 featuring vocals from Ce'cile although there is a version of the song on his album ''Nextlevelism'' which features Ms. Dynamite. The 2010 version of the song peaked at number 24 on the UK Singles Chart. The music video was directed by Ben Newman and edited by Jacek Zajkowski. In 2012, Shy FX made a 're-edit' of the song that was re-released to radio. This version reached number 22 on the UK Singles Chart and number 39 on the Irish Singles Chart. The sales of all versions are combined enabling it to have sold in excess of 600,000 copies, receiving a Platinum certification, despite never reaching the top twenty of the UK Singles Chart. ''Dutty Rock'' (West Indian patois for "dirty rock") is the second studio album by Jamaican reggae/dancehall artist Sean Paul. Released on 12 November 2002, it features four top 15 ''Billboard'' Hot 100 hits , "Gimme the Light", "Get Busy", "Like Glue" and " I'm Still in Love with You". It is also his first album to have a Parental Advisory sticker. The album debuted at number 26 on the US ''Billboard'' 200, selling 65,000 copies in its first week and went on to become an international phenomenon, eventually climbing the charts peaking at number 9 on the US ''Billbaord'' 200, number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and topping the Canadian Albums Chart. Carl Henry (singer)
Carl Henry is a Canadian R&B singer born in Jamaica and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. His 2002 debut album ''RNB'', earned him his first Juno nomination in 2003 for Best R&B/Soul recording of the Year. He released a French-language version of the album titled ''Solution RNB''. After touring and promoting the French version the album, he released three singles: "Homie's Girl", dancehall hit "Bare As She Dare" (featuring Ce'cile), and "Hot Gal" (featuring Rally Bop). The three singles also received Juno nominations. His second album titled ''I Wish'', was released in the fall of 2005. It featured the single "Little Mama". Manchester Parish
The Parish of Manchester is a parish located in west-central Jamaica, in the county of Middlesex. Its capital, Mandeville, is a major business centre. Its St. Paul of the Cross Pro-Cathedral is the episcopal see of the Latin Catholic Diocese of Mandeville. History Taino/Arawak settlement in the parish was substantiated when in 1792, a surveyor found three carvings, believed to be Amerindian Zemi, in a cave in the Carpenter's Mountains. They are now at the British Museum. Manchester was formed in 1814, by an Act of the House of Assembly, making it one of the newest parishes of Jamaica. It was formed as a result of the amalgamation of portions of the parishes St. Elizabeth, Clarendon and the entirety of Vere.
