Alexander Cañedo
Alexander Cañedo (December 26, 1902 – February 1, 1978) was a Mexican-American artist who was part of the surrealism and magic realism art movements of the mid-20th century. Biography Cañedo was born in Mexico City as Alejandro de Cañedo; his father was a Mexican government official and his mother was from the United States. In 1918, when Cañedo was 15, his parents sent him to École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he studied under the sculptor Jean Magrou. In 1923, Cañedo traveled to Rome where he continued his art studies. In 1927, Cañedo briefly returned to Mexico. During that trip, the Mexican Government appointed him attaché to the Mexican Embassy in Rome. In 1928, Cañedo held his first art exhibition with the Circolo Artistico in Rome, a collection of pencil drawings. More exhibitions followed in other cities in Europe. Carlos Cañedo (born 1975) is an American rock musician, professional Argentine Tango dancer/choreographer, and documentary producer. As a musician, Cañedo performed in American punk rock and hardcore bands The PeeChees, Rice, and Beehive and the Barracudas, releasing albums on indie labels Kill Rock Stars, Lookout! Records, and Sub Pop. He is currently performing in Carlos Cañedo Is Filling Gaps with Adam Horovitz of the Beastie Boys. Roberto Cañedo Ramírez (30 March 1919 – 16 June 1999), better known as Roberto Cañedo, was a Mexican actor of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. During his career, he appeared in over 300 films. Guillermo "Memo" Cañedo Malburg or Guillermo Cañedo III, (born 1986 in Mexico City) is a Mexican sports executive who is the current CEO of Comunicaciones F.C. He is the son of former Club America president, Guillermo Cañedo White. He is also the grandson of the late Guillermo Cañedo de la Bárcena, a well-known soccer executive and former FIFA vice-president. Juan De Dios Cañedo
Juan de Dios Cañedo (born in Guadalajara, 18 January 1786; died in Mexico City, 28 March 1850) was a Mexican statesman. Biography He received a good education and was admitted to the bar in 1809. He was elected a deputy to the Spanish Cortes in 1813, and soon became prominent as a parliamentary orator. While in Madrid, he published a manifesto to the Spanish nation in defence of the colonial interests, which was eagerly read both in Spain and her American possessions. On his return to Mexico in 1824, Cañedo took part in the debate relative to the new republican constitution. Ambassador Francisco del Río y Cañedo was born in Veracruz, Mexico on October 4, 1899 the son of Dr. Narciso del Río y Bausa and Modesta Tuñon y Cañedo both born in Remedios, Cuba. He studied medicine and was president of the Federation of University Students. In 1923 he joined the De la Huertista movement and was its representative in Havana, Cuba between 1924 and 1927.
