Cazeneuve Government
The Cazeneuve government ( French: ''Gouvernement Bernard Cazeneuve'') was the thirty-ninth government in the Fifth Republic of France. It was led by Bernard Cazeneuve who was appointed Prime Minister of France on 6 December 2016. It consisted of 15 ministers from the Socialist Party (PS), two from the Radical Party of the Left (PRG) and one from Ecologist Party (PE). Ahead of 2017 presidential election, incumbent President François Hollande announced he would not run for a second presidential term after which incumbent Prime Minister Manuel Valls announced his candidacy at the 2017 Socialist Party presidential primary election and resignation from the position of the Prime Minister the following day. Bernard Cazeneuve
Bernard Guy Georges Cazeneuve (; born 2 June 1963) is a French politician and lawyer who served as Prime Minister of France from 6 December 2016 to 15 May 2017. A member of the Socialist Party, he represented Manche’s 5th constituency in the National Assembly from 1997 to 2002 and again from 2007 to 2012. On 4 May 2022, following the Socialist Party's electoral coalition agreement with the leftist La France Insoumise, he left the Socialist Party because he felt La France Insoumise did not match the values and morals of the Socialist Party. He was Mayor of Cherbourg-Octeville from 2001 to 2012. In 2012, he was appointed Minister delegate for European Affairs in the Ayrault government. Jean-Marc Ayrault (; born 25 January 1950) is a French politician who served as Prime Minister of France from 15 May 2012 to 31 March 2014. He later was Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2016 to 2017.
