Cayucas, previously Oregon Bike Trails, is an American indie pop band from Santa Monica, California. The group includes Zach Yudin and his twin brother Ben Yudin on guitar. The band signed to Secretly Canadian in 2012. History 2011: Oregon Bike Trails Zach Yudin, then a musician for nearly five years, posted his first song under the name Oregon Bike Trails on January 18, 2011. He was associated with Father/Daughter Records in the early part of his career. 2012: Secretly Canadian In 2012, Yudin expanded from a solo project to a band and he officially changed the group's name from Oregon Bike Trails to Cayucas. Father/Daughter Records is an independent record label based in San Francisco, California. It is owned and operated by Jessi Frick, a former marketing and publicity executive at Fiddler Records, and her father Ken Hector, and was formed in 2010. It was initially known for releasing early records by Mutual Benefit, Pure Bathing Culture, Levek and Oregon Bike Trails (now known as Cayucas). The label has released songs by artists such as Shamir, Diet Cig, Remember Sports, Vagabon, Anjimile, Annie Blackman, and Partner. Secretly Canadian is an American independent record label based in Bloomington, Indiana, with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, London, Paris, Amsterdam, and Berlin. Secretly Canadian is a label included in Secretly Group, which also includes Dead Oceans and Jagjaguwar. Secretly Group includes the three record labels as well as a music publisher known as Secretly Publishing, representing artists, writers, film makers, producers, and comedians. History Secretly Canadian was founded in 1996 by Chris and Ben Swanson, Eric Weddle, and Jonathan Cargill while they attended Indiana University. Richard Swift (born Ricardo Ochoa; March 16, 1977 – July 3, 2018) was an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and short-film maker. Davey Brozowski (born October 17, 1982) is a drummer and percussionist from Seattle, WA. He has toured with Modest Mouse as their percussionist. Surf Music
Surf music (or surf rock, surf pop, or surf guitar) is a genre of rock music associated with surf culture, particularly as found in Southern California. It was especially popular from 1958 to 1964 in two major forms. The first is instrumental surf, distinguished by reverb-heavy electric guitars played to evoke the sound of crashing waves, largely pioneered by Dick Dale and the Del-Tones.
