''In flagrante delicto'' (Latin for "in blazing offence") or sometimes simply ''in flagrante'' ("in blazing") is a legal term used to indicate that a criminal has been caught in the act of committing an offence (compare ). The colloquial "caught red-handed" and "caught rapid" are English equivalents. Aside from the legal meaning, the Latin term is often used colloquially as a euphemism for someone being caught in the midst of sexual activity. Etymology The phrase combines the present active participle '' flagrāns'' (flaming or blazing) with the noun '' dēlictum'' (offence, misdeed, or crime). In this term the Latin preposition ''in'', not indicating motion, takes the ablative. The closest literal translation would be "in blazing offence", where " blazing" is a metaphor for vigorous, highly visible action. ''Caught in the Act'' is a live double album by Styx, released in 1984. It contains one new song, "Music Time", which was released as a single, reaching #40 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 charts. ''Caught in the Act'' is also the name of a VHS video recording that featured the band acting out the concept established in their '' Kilroy Was Here'' album. A DVD version was released on December 11, 2007. Shortly after this album's release, Tommy Shaw announced his departure from the band to pursue a solo career. The band then went into hiatus for the rest of the 1980s. ''Caught In The Act'' would ultimately prove to be the final album by the massively successful 1975-84 Styx lineup of Dennis DeYoung, Shaw, James Young, Chuck Panozzo, and John Panozzo; by the time Shaw returned to the band in 1995, John Panozzo's declining health prevented his participation, and he died in 1996. Pamyua ( ) (literally: "its tail" in Yup'ik from ''pamyuq'' "tail of animal or kayak; chorus of song; upper stern-piece of kayak") is a Yup'ik musical group from Anchorage in Alaska. Overview Brothers Stephen and Phillip Blanchett, of Inuit and African-American descent, formed Pamyua in 1995 with the goal of combining and preserving their cultural and religious backgrounds through music. Pamyua's music is self-described as "tribal funk", " world music" and "Inuit soul music", drawing inspiration from Russian Orthodox chants, traditional Inuit music, R&B and most notably South African male choral group, Ladysmith Black Mambazo. An early influence was the African American gospel played in their father's church in Wasilla, Alaska. ''Caught in the Act'' is Grand Funk Railroad's second live album and was released in August 1975 by Capitol Records as a double album. It was recorded live on tour in 1975 and features "The Funkettes" – Lorraine Feather and Jana Giglio. Early pressings of the album (including record-club pressings) simply state the band's name as "Grand Funk" on the front cover and spine, but have the full name on the record labels. The 2003 re-mastered version of this release has a total time of 79:08, and was squeezed down to one disc. The 2:47 "Introduction" is gone, but "T.N.U.C" and "Gimme Shelter" are lengthened. Audience interaction and applause is shortened throughout to compensate. The missing "Introduction" is included as a hidden track at the end of "Some Kind of Wonderful" on the 2003 re-mastered version of "All the Girls in the World Beware!!!" Steve Gibbons (born 13 July 1941) is an English singer-songwriter, guitarist and bandleader. His music career spans more than 50 years. Career The Dominettes Steve Gibbons started his professional life as a plumber's apprentice in Harborne. He joined the Dominettes in 1958, to replace Colin Smith, who had left to join Jimmy Powell's backing group. Colin Smith later changed his name to Carl Barron and became the singer with The Cheetahs. An Elvis Presley fan, Gibbons' first performance with The Dominettes was at The California public house near Weoley Castle. Regular music venues for The Dominettes in the early 1960s were the Grotto Club on Bromsgrove Street, and The Sicilia Coffee Bar in Edgbaston. The group by this time included many R&B numbers into their set and this style of music suited Gibbons' gritty vocals.
