Cats FM
Cats FM is a private FM radio station airing from Jalan Bako, Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. The radio covers areas of Sarawak and Brunei. The radio airs in Malay and Iban. The station used to air programmes in English and Mandarin Chinese. Cats FM is Sarawak's first private radio station. Special programs Pantun Sarawak (Bermukun) It is announced in February 2011 that Cats FM will re-air the traditional ''Pantun Sarawak'' after an absence of two years. The ''Pantun Sarawak'' also known as ''bermukun'' or ''berpantun'' is a Sarawakian art, not only confined to the Malays but also to other ethnics as well. The program airs every Friday from 9.30pm-11pm, with presenters Cassie and Wan KAK. CATS Exposed CATS Exposed is a segment that features Sarawakian acts that aired since 2008. Kuching
Kuching (), officially the City of Kuching, is the capital and the most populous city in the States and federal territories of Malaysia, state of Sarawak in Malaysia. Masterpiece (band)
Masterpiece is an Iban rock band, which formed in 2003 as Masterjam in Sibu, Sarawak best known for its hit singles, " Sinu", " Kumang Seari" & " Ngarap Ka Nuan Nikal Pulai". The band comprises vocalist Depha Masterpiece, lead guitarist Willy Edwin, bassist Watt Marcus, drummer Harold Vincent, keyboardist Valentine Jimmy and Roslee Qadir. The group was renamed Masterpiece in 2005 after Depha was hired as the band's new vocalist. Drummer Roni,guitarist Kennedy Edwin ,keyboardist Dellender Wilson and Timothy are former members of the band. Since its inception, Masterpiece has released five studio albums and three songs for Gawai various artist album compilations. Gawai Dayak
Gawai Dayak is an annual festival celebrated by the Dayak people in Sarawak, Malaysia and West Kalimantan, Indonesia on 1 and 2 June. It is a public holiday in Sarawak and is both a religious and a social occasion recognised since 1957. Gawai Dayak was conceived of by the radio producers Tan Kingsley and Owen Liang and then taken up by the Dayak community. The British colonial government refused to recognise Dayak Day until 1962. They called it ''Sarawak Day'' for the inclusion of all Sarawakians as a national day, regardless of ethnic origin. On 1 June 1963, Datuk Michael Buma, a Betong native, hosted the celebrations of the first Gawai Dayak at his home at Siol Kandis, Kuching. ''Anugerah Juara Lagu'' (literally: "Song Championship Award"), commonly known by the acronym AJL, is a popular annual music competition in Malaysia, organised by TV3 since 1986.
