Catherine Webombesa
Catherine Webombesa (born 19 May 1983) is a Ugandan athlete known for her achievements in middle-distance running as a world youth gold medalist. She participated in the East Africa Senior Athletic Championships at Nambole stadium in 2007 where she won Gold and Silver And put Uganda on map as second. Career The Uganda athlete has competed in a number of road and track competitions. The 1500 metres or 1,500-metre run (typically pronounced 'fifteen-hundred metres') is the foremost middle distance track event in athletics. The distance has been contested at the Summer Olympics since 1896 and the World Championships in Athletics since 1983. It is equivalent to 1.5 kilometers or approximately miles. 230px Dorcus Inzikuru (born 2 February 1982 in Vurra, Arua District) is a Ugandan track and field athlete, competing in the steeplechase. She won the inaugural world title in women's 3000 m steeplechase, as well as the first Commonwealth title in the event. Her coach is Renato Canova. Sometimes her name is spelt "Docus". It was misspelled in her passport, and the mistake was perpetuated when she entered international races.
