Catherine Delahunty
Catherine Delahunty (born 1953) is a New Zealand politician and environmentalist. From until 2017 she was a member of parliament in the House of Representatives representing the Green Party. During her time as an MP she served variously as the Green Party spokesperson on Education, Water, Toxics, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Mining (Terrestrial), Forestry, Civil Defence, Disability Issues, Women's Affairs, Arts, Culture & Heritage, and the Community & Voluntary Sector. Political career Delahunty was the female co-convenor of the Green Party from 2003 to 2005. She has been placed high on the Greens' list for several years, just missing getting into Parliament on several occasions. She was elected as a Green Party MP and gained the fourth highest number of candidate votes in the East Coast electorate. The Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand ( mi, Rōpū Kākāriki o Aotearoa, Niu Tireni), commonly known as the Greens, is a green and left-wing political party in New Zealand. Like many green parties around the world, it has four organisational pillars (ecological wisdom, social justice, grassroots democracy, and nonviolence). Sarah Delahunty
Sarah Delahunty (born 1952) is a New Zealand writer and director who was born in Wellington. An award-winning playwright, Delahunty has written over 30 plays, often focussing on works for youth. In the 2015 Queen's Birthday Honours, Delahunty was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to theatre. Life Delahunty was born in Wellington, and grew up there with her sister, politician Catherine Delahunty. Sarah enrolled at the New Zealand Drama School but found it boring and left after ten days. She then worked at Downstage Theatre, before getting a lead role on soap opera ''Close to Home''.
