The Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help is a Catholic cathedral and parish church located in Rapid City, South Dakota, United States. Completed in 1962, it serves as the third cathedral of the Diocese of Rapid City. History The Diocese of Rapid City was founded as the Diocese of Lead in 1902. St. Patrick's in Lead served as the diocese's first cathedral. The Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help is a Catholic cathedral in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States. It is the seat of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. History Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish was established in 1919 when Bishop Theophile Meerschaert, the first Bishop of Oklahoma City, assigned Monsignor Monnot its first pastor on January 19. Mass for the parish was initially celebrated in an automobile showroom on Classen Boulevard. The first church building was a wood structure built in May 1919 on NW 31st Street between Western and Lake. The following month the parish held a ground breaking for a combination church and school building. Construction of the present church building was begun on July 3, 1923, and was completed in February 1924. A frame rectory was completed in July of the same year. The Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral ( es, Catedral de Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro) Also El Vigia Cathedral is a Catholic church located in El Vigia, Mérida state, Venezuela. Is located on Bolivar Avenue to 15th Avenue, opposite the Bolívar Square of El Vigia. History On 14 April 1957 the archbishop of Mérida, Acacio Chacín, laid the first stone. On May 21 of that same year construction he began. The layout was made by José Ignacio Olivares, priest of El Vigia. On 12 March 1959 the parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help was founded.
