Arthur Rosson
Arthur Henry Rosson (24 August 1886 – 17 June 1960) was an English film director. From 1917 to 1948, Rosson directed 61 feature films (including co-direction of ''Red River (1948 film), Red River''). He also worked on many major films as a second unit director until 1960, particularly for Cecil B. DeMille. Biography Arthur Rosson was born on 24 August 1886 in London, England. He was the first child born of a jockey horse trainer, Arthur Richard Rosson, and a French woman, Hellen Rochefort Rosson. Rosson came from a film-making family. His brother, Harold Rosson, was an Academy Award-nominated cinematographer and several other family members were involved in the early film industry. He was also the brother of silent film actress Helene Rosson and actor and director Richard Rosson (filmmaker), Richard Rosson. Eddie Sturgis
Eddie Sturgis (1881–1947), also known as Edwin Sturgis, Ed Sturgis, or Edward Sturgis, was an American character actor of the silent and sound film eras. His career began in the 1916 film, '' The Lost Bridegroom'', which starred John Barrymore. In his twenty-three year career, he appeared in over fifty films, mostly in supporting or smaller roles. His final performance would be in the 1939 Joe E. Brown vehicle, ''Beware, Spooks!'', in a minor role. Sturgis died on December 13, 1947 in Los Angeles, California. Larry Evans (author)
Larry Edward Evans (died 1925) was an American novelist and playwright. Several of his stories were performed on stage and adapted for film. Some of his work was serialized in ''Metropolitan Magazine (New York City)'', where Teddy Roosevelt was an editor during World War I. Evans was listed along with other "Famous Contributors" in an ad for ''Metropolitan'' in '' Theatre Magazine'' in 1921. Evans wrote the novels ''Then I'll Come Back to You'' and ''Once to Every Man''. The latter was adapted to film as ''The Fighting Heart (1925 film)'' Several of his stories were also adapted to film. His story ''The Painted Lady'' was published in the ''Saturday Evening Post''. It was adapted to film as ''When a Man Sees Red'' in 1917 and then as '' The Painted Lady (1925)'', and republished as in a photoplay edition illustrated with scenes from the movie by Grosset & Dunlap.
