Caspian is an American post-rock band from Beverly, Massachusetts, United States. History Early history: 2003–2004 Caspian loosely formed in Autumn of 2003 in Beverly, Massachusetts, developing material through the first year of its existence, recording a demo in May 2004 and performing a small number of shows in late 2004 and early 2005, including support for the Japanese post-rock band Mono. The band's first performance took place at The Pickled Onion in Beverly, Massachusetts on August 26, 2004. At the time, the band had not yet chosen the name Caspian and was looking for a vocalist. Fang Island
Fang Island was an American indie rock band formed in Providence, Rhode Island, and based in Brooklyn, New York City, New York. The group consisted of the guitarists Jason Bartell and Chris Georges, the bass guitarist Brock Hengin and the drummer Marc St. Sauveur. Biography Fang Island began in 2005 as an art project with original members, Philip Curcuru, Chris Georges and Pete Watts, while attending Rhode Island School of Design. They were later joined by Bartell, St. Sauveur, Jacober and the guitarist Nick Sadler, a former member of the band Daughters (band), Daughters. Fang Island took its name from an article in ''The Onion''. Bartell recalled, "I think it was just a funny blip about Donald Rumsfeld having a secret hideaway, and it was on Fang Island." Boston Calling Music Festival
Boston Calling Music Festival is a Boston-based music festival. The festival debuted in May 2013 and previously took place twice a year, May and September, at City Hall Plaza. The festival reportedly attracted 20,000–22,000 fans with its earlier editions, eventually drawing roughly 40,000 festival goers in 2017. In May 2016, Boston Calling announced it would move to the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston in May 2017 and transition to one festival per year, with the new space allowing the addition of more music stages and the inclusion of stand-up comedy performers. Native is a French R&B duo composed of two sisters, Laura Mayne (born 20 January 1968 in Villemomble, Seine-Saint-Denis) and Chris Mayne (born 12 January 1970 in Villemomble). They began their singing career as backup singers with Niagara and Gérald De Palmas. They achieved their first success in 1994 with their single "Si la vie demande ça", a top ten hit in France. In 1994, they won a Victoires de la musique award for most promising group of the year. Junius (band)
Junius is an American rock band from Boston, Massachusetts that formed in 2003. The band is composed of lead vocalist and guitarist Joseph E. Martinez, and drummer Dana Filloon. Thus far, they have released four EPs and three full-length albums. The band name is taken after '' Junius'', the pseudonym of a political writer who lived during the late 18th century. Minus the Bear was an American indie rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 2001, and comprising members of Botch, Kill Sadie, and Sharks Keep Moving. Waking Season
''Waking Season'' is the third full-length studio album by Beverly, Massachusetts post-rock group Caspian. It is the group's first record to be produced by Matt Bayles and also their first to be released through ''Triple Crown Records''. The album was released in CD, LP, 2XLP, and Digital Download formats on September 21, 2012 in Germany through ''Make My Day Records'' and worldwide on September 25, 2012 through ''Triple Crown Records''. An official music video for the opening track "Waking Season" debuted on Vimeo on September 25, 2012 and was directed by Daniel Navetta. The album was later given an Australia / New Zealand release through Hobbledehoy Record Co in January 2014. Matt Bayles (born October 19, 1972) is an American record producer, mixer, engineer, and musician, based in Seattle, Washington. Bayles (pronounced 'Bay-Less') is known for his work with bands such as The Classic Crime, Isis, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Botch, Mastodon, Minus the Bear, Burnt by the Sun, and Norma Jean and as the keyboardist for American indie rock band, Minus the Bear. Early years Bayles' career began with interning in Nashville, Tennessee. Moving Mountains is an American rock band from Purchase, New York. Combining elements of emo and post-rock, the band has often been compared to such acts as The Appleseed Cast and Thrice.
