Casey Sibosado
Casey Sibosado (born 13 October 1990) is an Australian rules footballer who played for the Fremantle Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Football career Originally from Lombadina, near Broome in the north-west of West Australia, he was recruited from the Oakleigh Chargers in the TAC Cup with the third selection in the 2009 Rookie Draft. He played for the Chargers whilst attending Xavier College in Melbourne. He also played for the Northern Territory Thunder in the 2008 AFL Under 18 Championships. Sibosado played for Claremont in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) but switched to Perth during 2010 to get more opportunities at senior level. Sibosado made his AFL debut in the final round of the 2011 AFL season, replacing Luke McPharlin who was a late withdrawal from the team. Oakleigh Chargers
The Oakleigh Chargers is an Australian rules football club playing in the NAB League, the top statewide under-18 competition in Victoria, Australia. They are based at Warrawee Park in Oakleigh, Victoria, representing the southeastern suburban area of Melbourne. The Chargers were one of two additional metropolitan clubs introduced to the competition in 1995 as part of a plan by the AFL to replace the traditional club zones with independent junior clubs. This was to help aid in player development and the process of the AFL draft. In June 2008 the Chargers moved into a new pavilion at Warrawee Park. The chargers are aligned to Collingwood, Richmond & Port Melbourne. 2011 AFL Season
The 2011 AFL season was the 115th season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The season featured seventeen clubs, with the newly established Gold Coast Suns, based in Gold Coast, Queensland, playing its inaugural season. The season ran from 24 March until 1 October, and comprised a 22-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top eight clubs. The premiership was won by the Geelong Football Club for the ninth time, after it defeated by 38 points in the 2011 AFL Grand Final. Rookie List
The rookie list is a means for Australian Football League (AFL) clubs to maintain additional players outside the 38-man primary or senior list. Rookie listed players are not eligible to play in AFL home-and-away or finals matches unless they are elevated to the senior list, either to replace a retired player or a player with a long-term injury. Recruitment There are two categories of rookie: Category A and Category B. Category A primarily represents players with a traditional Australian rules football development; Category B rookies are players from non-traditional recruiting backgrounds. Category A rookies are usually placed on the list via the rookie draft, which occurs annually during the off-season, immediately after the pre-season draft.
