Case IH is an American agricultural machinery manufacturer. It was created in 1985 when Tenneco bought selected assets of the agricultural division from International Harvester and merged it into its J.I. ASABE
The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) is an international professional society devoted to Agricultural engineering, agricultural and biological engineering. It was founded in December 1907 at the University of Wisconsin–Madison as the American Society of Agricultural Engineers (ASAE) and is now based in St. Joseph, Michigan. Today the organization has about 9,000 members in over 100 countries. ASABE serves many functions: it provides a forum for communication of research findings through conferences, scientific journals, and a magazine; it develops standards of practice; it provides opportunities for members to network. Case STX Steiger
The Case STX Steiger is a tractor line built by Case IH. This line continues the models built by Steiger Tractor, which was purchased by Case IH in 1986. The tractors are built in Case IH's plant in Fargo, North Dakota, where already 50,000 units of this line were built as of September 2005. This tractor line is powered by engines with 405 to 682 hp. They are available in wheeled, Quadtrac, and row-crop Rowtrac configurations, and are very closely related to the New Holland T9 range. In 2005, the STX500 Quadtrac tractor set a new Ploughing World Record. The machine ploughed 321ha in just 24 hours, led by Jean Imbert who drove the tractor. In 2007, the STX530 Quadtrac tractor was featured on the television series Top Gear, where presenter Richard Hammond chose the STX Steiger for some of the challenges, (eventually including ploughing.) Jerome Case
Jerome Increase Case (December 11, 1819December 22, 1891) was an early American manufacturer of threshing machines. He founded the J. I. Case Company which has gone through many mergers and name changes to today's Case Corporation. He served three terms as mayor of Racine, Wisconsin, and represented Racine County in the Wisconsin State Senate in 1865 and 1866. He also raised champion race horses. Early life Jerome Increase Case was born December 11, 1819, in Williamstown in Oswego County, New York. His father was Caleb Case (1787–1874) and mother Deborah Jackson (1789–1833). He was one of seven children. Through his mother he claimed to be related to Andrew Jackson.
