''Case'' is the debut album by American singer Case. It was released by Def Jam Recordings on August 13, 1996. The album peaked at number seven on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and reached number 42 on the US ''Billboard'' 200. ''Case'' was supported by four singles, including "More to Love" and "Touch Me, Tease Me" featuring Foxy Brown and Mary J. Blige which became the album's most successful single on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, peaking at number 14. In a 2020 interview with BET, Case remarked that he disliked recording the album and admitted he did not have a lot of creative freedom within the album. Critical reception Allmusic editor Leo Stanley found that "on his eponymous debut, Case manages to be tough without sacrificing his soul. Case Woodard (born October 4, 1975), known Mononymous person, mononymously as Case, is an American singer, songwriter, record producer and actor. He is best known for the 1990s hits "Touch Me, Tease Me" (featuring Foxy Brown (rapper), Foxy Brown and Mary J. Blige), "Happily Ever After (song), Happily Ever After" and "The Best Man I Can Be" (with Ginuwine, R.L. James Brown
James Joseph Brown (May 3, 1933 – December 25, 2006) was an American singer, dancer, musician, record producer and bandleader. The Payback (song)
"The Payback" is a funk song by James Brown, the title track from his 1973 album of the same name. The song's lyrics, originally written by trombonist and bandleader Fred Wesley but heavily revised by Brown himself soon before it was recorded, concern the revenge he plans to take against a man who betrayed him. The song is notable for its sparse, open arrangement and its use of wah-wah guitar – a relative rarity in Brown's previous funk recordings. Released as a two-part single (featuring a radio announcer at the beginning of part one) in February 1974, it was the first in an unbroken succession of three singles by Brown to reach #1 on the R&B charts that year – the last chart-toppers of his career.
