Cartoon Network, commonly abbreviated as CN, is a Portuguese digital cable and satellite television channel launched on 3 December 2013 and is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery under its International division. Currently, Cartoon Network is the second most-watched kids and teens' channel in Portugal, recently surpassing Canal Panda and is now only behind Disney Channel. History The Pan-European feed received in Portugal, Angola and Mozambique was transmitted for a long time (from 17 September 1993 to 3 December 2013), this feed is now Cartoon Network Africa. The Portuguese-language version of the channel was first launched on 1 October 2013 in Angola and Mozambique. Cartoon Network (Europe)
Since the inception of Cartoon Network and its sister networks, Warner Bros. Discovery has set up international feeds of the networks. Cartoon Network Background Cartoon Network Europe, a pan-European English feed, was launched in 1993. Spanish, Swedish, Danish, French, Italian, and Norwegian audio tracks were added in 1994. The network's Dutch feed was launched in 1997. Another feed launched in 1998, which aired in France, Italy and Spain. The pan-European feed kept airing in the other parts of Europe. The network's Italian feed became independent a few months later after the launch of the French channel, while the Spanish and French feeds were split in 1999. A Polish feed launched a year earlier, in 1998. On September 17, 1993, some Russian cities began receiving Cartoon Network Europe through broadcasts from the Astra satellite. Cartoon Network is one of two digital children's television channels that air animated series: Cartoon Network Middle East and North Africa (MENA), which serves the Middle East and North Africa division along with Cyprus; and Cartoon Network Africa (formerly known as Cartoon Network EMEA), which exclusively serves Sub-Saharan Africa. Both feeds are owned by Warner Bros. Discovery under its International division. The network began as part of the larger UK/pan-European service on 17 September 1993; the UK branch would separate itself in October 1999, but kept a nearly identical schedule until August 2001. Cartoon Network EMEA used to share channel space with TNT Africa; the latter would air from 21:00 to 06:00 CET, while the former would run for the rest of the day. ''We Bare Bears'' is an American animated sitcom created by Daniel Chong for Cartoon Network. The show follows three bear brothers, Grizzly, Panda, and Ice Bear, and their awkward attempts at integrating with the human world in the San Francisco Bay Area. The series was based on Chong's webcomic ''The Three Bare Bears'', and the pilot episode made its world premiere at the KLIK! ''Clarence'' is an American animated television series created by Skyler Page for Cartoon Network. The series revolves around the title character and his two best friends, Jeff and Sumo. The creator of the series, Skyler Page, a former storyboard artist for ''Adventure Time'' and revisionist for ''Secret Mountain Fort Awesome'', developed the series at Cartoon Network Studios as part of their shorts development program in 2012. It is based on Browngardt's animated short of the same name from the unaired '' Cartoonstitute''.
