Carter Owen Swift (born ) is a New Zealand swimmer who specialises in front crawl. Swimming career Swift began swimming at a young age under his mother Michelle Swift, who is the head coach of Shepparton Swimming Club. Swift later joined Eastern Michigan University's men's swim and dive team in the latter half of 2017. Front Crawl
The front crawl or forward crawl, also known as the Australian crawl or American crawl, is a swimming stroke usually regarded as the fastest of the four front primary strokes. As such, the front crawl stroke is almost universally used during a freestyle swimming competition, and hence freestyle is used metonymically for the front crawl. It is one of two long axis strokes, the other one being the backstroke. Unlike the backstroke, the butterfly stroke, and the breaststroke, the front crawl is not regulated by the FINA. This style is sometimes referred to as the Australian crawl although this can sometimes refer to a more specific variant of front crawl. Ergonomics The face-down swimming position allows for a good range of motion of the arm in the water, as compared to the ''backstroke'', where the hands cannot be moved easily along the back of the spine. ''Shepparton News'' is a daily morning newspaper serving Shepparton, Victoria. It was established in 1887 by Thomas Haslam as a weekly broadsheet and was purchased by Colin McPherson the following year. The ''News'' is owned by McPherson Media Group, a family business. History Establishment and purchases (1887–1913) In 1887, Thomas Haslam came to Shepparton with a printing press transported from Echuca by a bullock team and established the ''Shepparton News''. As he was on the other side of the Goulburn River, it took two days for Haslam to transfer the plant on MacGuire's Punt two by two. Manaia is a rural town in South Taranaki District, New Zealand. Ōpunake is 29 km to the northwest, and Hāwera is 13 km to the southeast. Kaponga is 15 km north.
