Cars 2 (soundtrack)
''Cars 2 (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)'' is the soundtrack album to the 2011 Disney/Pixar film of the same name. It was directed by John Lasseter, a sequel to ''Cars'' (2006) and the second film in the ''Cars'' franchise. The film is scored by Michael Giacchino in his first and only collaboration with Lasseter. The score was recorded at the Eastwood Scoring Stage for over six to seven weeks, whereas the orchestra recording happened for six to eight days. The album was released by Walt Disney Records on June 14, 2011, ten days ahead of the film's release, and featured songs performed by Weezer, Robbie Williams, Brad Paisley and Perfume, with Giacchino's score accompanying the remainder of it. Development ''Cars 2'' is John Lasseter's only film not to be scored by his frequent collaborator Randy Newman, who also scored the predecessor. ''Brave'' is the soundtrack to the 2012 Brave (2012 film), Disney-Pixar film of the same name composed by Patrick Doyle and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. The soundtrack features Doyle's musical score and features two original songs performed by Scottish singer Julie Fowlis (written by Alex Mandel and Mark Andrews (filmmaker), Mark Andrews, produced by Jim Sutherland), and one original song performed by Birdy (musician), Birdy and Mumford & Sons. Randall Stuart Newman (born November 28, 1943) is an American singer-songwriter, arranger, composer, and pianist known for his Southern-accented singing style, early Americana-influenced songs (often with mordant or satirical lyrics), and various film scores. Perfume (Japanese Band)
is a Japanese pop girl group from Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, consisting of Ayano Omoto ("Nocchi"), Yuka Kashino ("KASHIYUKA") and Ayaka Nishiwaki ("a-chan"). The group has been signed with Amuse, Inc. since 2003 and with Universal Music Group since 2012. Weezer is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1992. John Lasseter
John Alan Lasseter (; born January 12, 1957) is an American film director, producer, screenwriter, animator, voice actor, and the head of animation at Skydance Animation. He was previously the chief creative officer of Pixar Animation Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Disneytoon Studios, as well as the Principal Creative Advisor for Walt Disney Imagineering. Lasseter began his career as an animator with The Walt Disney Company. After being fired from Disney for promoting computer animation, he joined Lucasfilm, where he worked on then-groundbreaking use of CGI animation.
