''Carrossel'' is the ninth studio album released by Brazilian rock band Skank, the last in the "deconstruction trilogy" begun with Maquinarama in which the group changed from ska towards a more rock-oriented sound influenced by The Beatles and Clube da Esquina. ''Carrossel'' was the fifth best-selling album in São Paulo in 2006, peaking at second place. Other than Samuel Rosa's usual songwriting partner Chico Amaral, there are contributions from Nando Reis, Humberto Effe, César Maurício, Arnaldo Antunes and Rodrigo Leão. The track "Trancoso" was written with Arnaldo Antunes at Trancoso beach. The album's released singles are "Mil acasos", "Seus passos" and "Uma canção é pra isso" - the latter received a video which was nominated for the 2006 MTV Video Music Brazil award. Samuel Rosa
Samuel Rosa de Alvarenga (born July 15, 1966) is lead singer, primary composer and guitarist of Brazilian rock band Skank (band), Skank. He has a psychology degree from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. Samuel writes the music for most of the group's songs, with 80% of the lyrics by Chico Amaral. The MTV Video Music Brazil awards (originally Video Music Awards Brazil), more commonly known as VMB, were MTV Brasil's annual award ceremony, established in 1995. MTV viewers picked the winners for most categories since 2001. Unlike in the MTV Video Music Awards, the most important category at the MTV Video Music Brazil was the Viewer's Choice, not the Video of the Year; both of these categories merged in 2005. Trancoso, Bahia
Trancoso is a district in the municipality of Porto Seguro in the state of Bahia, Brazil. Arnaldo Antunes
Arnaldo Antunes (, born Arnaldo Augusto Nora Antunes Filho, September 2, 1960) is a Brazilian musician, writer, and composer. He was a member of the rock band Titãs, which he co-founded in 1982 and left ten years later. After 1992, he embarked on a solo career. He has published poetry and had his first book published in 1983. He has worked with Marisa Monte, Tribalistas, and Carlinhos Brown.
